I was afflicted by the notorious lack of power problem with my set-up. The Scratch Live tech support group and the "unofficial" forum was quick to offer me a solution: wall wart from Radio Shack or the likes.
It bothered me that so many people ran into this problem and the power supply is an "optional" accessory. It should have came in the box if so many people need it.
My work around (didn't feel like dropping $15 on top of the $500 I paid for the product) is to use a powered USB hub. I already had one laying around, so it wasn't an extra expense for me. Just my 2¢.
I plan on documenting my setup and posting them to my website soon, details to follow.
Mac OS X 10.3.4

DJ 3pm, it's notoriously difficult to predict the future, and as such this problem wasn't forseen, nor did anyone report this in the extensive beta testing so saying "It should have come in the box if so many people need it" is a little unfair. Remember this product was only just released in it's first version... Also it's not entirely clear yet which product is at fault (i.e not keeping to the spec) so maybe you should be on the apple message boards as well? ;-)
