Workaround
~ No work around. This has been randomly happening since Oct/2012.

I've done everything...

Analyzed files.
Wifi is OFF
Bluetooth is OFF
All disks have been verified
All permissions have been checked

I even disabled the video plugin at one of my gigs. Everything was good until I played an mp4 file. Then BOOM...audio drops out and waveform disappear.

Serato and the video have worked perfectly until Oct/2012. Seem like ver 2.4.3 and video 11050 everything went to sh*t!

At the end of my rope here. Until something is resolved I'm going back to good old CD's.

I work the biggest nightclub in my city and I can't afford to look like an idiot (well, anymore than I already do).

I hope to be using Serato again in the future. I really love what the product was. :)

I got that Problem a few times with Serato DJ and also ITCH. ITCH went well again after reinstalling. For Serato DJ i tryed switching to Win7-32bit. But that wasn't perfect to. So now i reinstalled Win7-64bin and it works fine for now.
I thought this might be a Windows-Only issue. But now it seems to be a serato issue.

How much free discspace do you have?

Are all your MP4 files on the 3TB external drive?
Do you know how fast this drive spins?

Can you try the following for me please,

1. Connect your 3TB drive and copy 10x video files to a folder on your desktop.
2. Disconnect your 3TB drive.
3. Launch Scratch Live
4. Mix some tunes, then mix in one of the MP4 tracks.

Does the audio drop out / wavforms still disappear?

Let me know how you get on :)

~ This problem is still randomly happening. What is so frustrating is that I can't recreate it when I want to.

This is the latest thing that has shown up in my console when a waveform/audio dropout happened Saturday Night in the club.

~ Update:

I bought a new external HD. The old one was 3TB Seagate Go-Flex 5400RPM Firewire

The new one is a 3TB LaCie d2 Quadra 7200RPM Firewire.

I am currently 10 gigs in with no trouble at all. Let's hope this fixes the problem. :)

Hey DJ506,

Well this sounds positive!

Just remember to keep the external drive well organised.
Remove / re-encode any corrupt files from your library on a regular basis.
-- Remove old music files you no longer play.

To keep a tidy "healthy" Serato library it requires a little ongoing maintenance from you :)
