Has anybody found a viable solution to not being able to delete files within SSL? I've searched all over the forums and see many people with the same issue.

External Firewire Drive
Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
Me (Read & Write)
Staff (Read & Write)
Everyone (Read & Write)

Library is of course not "protected"

Any suggestions would be great.

10.7.5 is the version of OSX I'm running. I accidentally selected the wrong one.

Try shutting down SSL.
Opening up the external.
Rename the _Serato_backup folder so it says _Serato_backupOLD.

Any luck?

I don't have a _Serato_backup folder

only _Serato_ & a folder with my music files.

So you only see two folders on the root of your external drive?

When you shut down SSL does it ask you if you want to back up the library?

yes only two folders.

yes it asks me to backup but I never do. (I backup on my own using something else)

Also.. are you trying to delete the files entirely off your hard drive from within SSL using ctrl + shift + delete or are you simply trying to delete it from SSL?

Delete off SSL & Hard Drive

I've tried just about every combination I found on the SSL site

control + shit + delete
command + shift + alt + delete
etc
etc

It deletes from SSL just fine but remains on HDD>
