I've just finished building a 2 deck controller for SSL in Lemur for the iPad. Any of you that follow the touchscreen scene closely will notice the presence of a true rotary platter control object, a feature that was absent in predecessors due to technical limitations. Even more fun is the effects control page, which is generally easier to understand by watching:

(I'd prefer to post more info here but these forums are awful limited so its easier to link spam).
Over the next few days I hope to discuss the capabilities of touch screen controllers for DJ software and where these ideas can take the industry. On the techincal side, I ran into a couple of road blocks, many of them stemming from Serato's lack of midi out, but was able to live with them or work around them for version 1.
At any rate, shoot me your feedback, thanks for the look!

Thanks man, now if only these guys could give us MIDI out... I'm not sure whether you can tell from the video, but I have to manually sync the BPM of the effect faders to the BPM of that deck to get the time synced fade in / fade outs... which I find to be a major bummer. (I also found all the extra programming to try and keep the parameter values in serato in sync with the parameter values in lemur to be of equal or greater bum-factor.)
My pipe dream is for one of the big players to some how open up their libraries to OSC or some other protocol so that we can see track names on, and select them from the Ipad. Whereby I can completely walk away from the decks/laptop and still be a functional DJ.

Fingers crossed. They added FLAC support, even if it did take a couple of years.
That, or (preferably) a "second screen" app for iOS/Android. I just want to be able to select tracks and see the basic detail, the detail shown in the deck view without a waveform:
- Total time
- Time elapsed/remaining
- BPM
- Percentage of second or third deck to have it beatmatched
Would be wicked to have notifications as well (write your own notes on the track and have a 10-sec/4-bar alert before the note occurs).
Would be great to leave the laptop plugged in somewhere out of the way, all nice and safe. Then just interface with SSL via the second screen.

Ideally, they'd do all that and open up the interface so that other developers/hardware manufacturers could access the info as well; but seeing that we've all been collectively nagging them for midi out for a few years and they are just now starting to address it, I'll wager outgoing information on that scale is a ways off.

Hey guys, just added File Navigation to this template:

I wish we could Midi Map the search box, that way I could make the action of pressing any of the keys on the keyboard automatically focus to the search and really cut the mouse out of the equation...

Just added total EFX control. There is now the ability to select from any of the default EFX presets, as well as control each of their (up to 4) parameters.
