I just bought the CDj 400 I was told I cAn put the timecode file whichis a .wav file into the root of the USB flash. I did so but the CDs isn't recognize a file to play. I also tried putting the entire folder and still nothing. It's formatted with fat32.
I bought two brand new USB flash drives 8gb each neither work

Hey Ralphy,
Did you change the setting on the cd players to access the USB sticks?
I believe there is a USB mode (HID), CD mode (what you would use when using the control cds), and a USB stick mode.
Also.. are you sure the files you added to the USB stick are .wav files?

CDJ-400s don't play wav files. You would have to convert the timecode file to mp3 but that will probably reduce it's effectiveness.
So either stick to timecode CDs, or even better, connect them up via USB and control Scratch Live with HID. That works beautifully with the 400s.

No worries Zach. The USB function on the 400s plays nothing but mp3s. It's only the later models which support any other formats.
