Yes it will work. All u need to do is MIDI MAP ur mixdeck and its all good

but i'm confused ? to hook up the rane SL2. the cd players outs go into the SL2 inputs & then the Outs of the SL2 go into the inputs on the mixer. i see youtube videos on the (Mixdeck) working with Rane SSL because it has cd outs 1&2 and line in's 1&2. but the back of the mixdeck express dont have enought outs and in's ? so how will i hook it up. and how do i midi map the mixdeck exrpess. sry to sound like a nubie. but i kinda of am when it comes to midi mapping stuff.thanx

If it was me I would just deal with the NS7 a little more and wait for the Serato DJ release for the Mixdeck Express and go with that.

(BUT) ive had my NS7 for like 3+ years no probs (Until) my last gig. which was a christmas dance. im not gonna go into details here,because i already had a help thread started on that prob. so i rushed out and got the mixdeck express to get me buy these next upcoming dances. new years & valentines dances. but seeing i cant use Serato into (words are just to small to read & see) and i didnt really want to use VDJ. i started googling (serato scratch live & numark mixdeck express) and thats what led me to this topic post. by the way Itchin_4_a_scratch do u now if i can or can not hook the rane SL2 to the numark mixdeck express ?

Yes you can use it with a SL box if you want the added investment of purchasing the SL.

can you please tell me how 2 hook it up.with out the rca connection?

Here's what I think makes your biggest problem.
The MixDeck (not the Express) has CD1 Out and CD2 Out which allows you to feed the SL box like a normal CDJ would.

The Express only has outs for the Master so separating the decks is not possible.

You are at the point of having to buy a SL box and change the Express to the full Mixdeck.

Simply answer is the Express needs to be returned for a full Mixdeck to use with a SL or you will have to wait for the MixDeck Express release of Serato DJ.

Itchin_4_A_Scratch knows the deal, the Numark Mixdeck is the one for you, not the Mixdeck Express.

Basically to use an SL 2, you require individual CD outputs, then two separate channel inputs, just as the Mixdeck does: www.sesystems.com

I can confirm this setup works, as I have tested it myself in the past :)

Interesting concept for a back to back set with two DJs switching between CD control and MIDI control on the Mixdeck :)
