hi guys
For some reason, my usb light has started flashing and the music stuttering every so often, which requires a full reboot to solve it
could someone cleverer than me look at my crash log and see what it is please?
Phil

Hey Phil F,
I see you have posted another help thread relating to your CD drive.
Just to clarify, was there a CD in your drive when the USB light started flashing?
Also does this happen with audio files, or just video files? or both?
Couple things to check,
1. USB Cable.
They can become faulty after being unplugged and plugged in so many times,
can you try another cable?
2. USB Ports.
These also can become faulty after alot of use, can you try using a different USB port?
3. Do you have any other external drives connected?
4. How big is your library?
Try increasing your USB BUFFER size. To do this follow this steps,
1. Load up Scratch Live
2. Click SETUP
3. Navigate to the HARDWARE tab
4. Increase USB BUFFER size to 15ms (move fader to the right)
5. Close the SETUP window
6. Have a mix and see if the issue is resolved.
Let me know how you get on.
Thanks.

Hi jamie
I have solved this by puting 16 gig of RAM memory in my laptop, instead of the 4 gig it had.
I have pretty much narrowed it down to the latest osx update. a kernel process hogging a lot of memory.
also managed to reduced my buffer to the far left and increase the mix emergency cache.
also i leave my serato box wired in with my mixer and cdj's so dont touch the usb that end and use a near enough a new laptop with thunderbolt hard disk
..
anyway mate, fingers crossed the new memory has sorted it. whilst osx decides its going to use way too much memory at least

Hey Phil F,
Thanks for those details. I am glad you have resolved the issue!
16GB is a lot more the 4GB of RAM this will definitely improve things for you.
Have a mix for a couple or hours and report back, let me know how it goes.
Thanks.

Hey
I did my gig tonight (3 hour set and 2 hours background music before) all with video and no problem at all, so hopefully it wasn't a fluke
