So im watching a (dj) Girl Talk video and noticed dude does not use a Mac. I thought this was extremely unusual for such a successful dj. Do others exist ??? Im sure some question if hes even a "real" dj but thats besides the point....Dude no doubt puts on a great performance ...lol
So I was wondering If we can make a list of famous djs that use Windows pc's. Photo or video proof preferred.

This is a trick question because most of the "famous DJs" are not really DJs, but producers pretending to be DJs.

Perhaps if Rusko had used a Mac he might not have dumped his laptop and Traktor out of frustration... #justsaying

Not sure when in 2012 that was taken, however, he did a show in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam around February with a PC laptop. The laptop overheated and shut down and was forced to stop the show for about 5 minutes for the laptop to restart. But I am 100% certain he WAS using a PC laptop.

tiesto uses WINDOWS!!! and VDJ!! :-p
nah but i always though his shows are always predetermine so he doesn't used a laptop just a cd and pioneers.
then again alot of EDM djs admit that they pick their songs before hand.. so technically is not fully live since they follow the playlist

Tiesto's shows are far from predetermine. If you have seen him more than once you would know this.
That doesn't mean its not live. Whenever i play a party where I'm opening for a headliner (like tiesto, yes I have opened for him) I have a smaller set list of chosen tracks I want to play. I dont pick the order in advance, But just because for a particular show I setup a smaller list doesn't make it not a live set.

you are right, it is still live except you have taken the time to really think of your song selection. in contrast some folks just kinda decide what to play when the time comes base the crowd that night. i suppose there is a bit of difference bwt that that is why i say it is not fully live since it kinda fucks up your playlist or mood/theme/vibe you wanted to express through your chosen songs.

i look at this like pre-dvs picking out records to bring to the club based on who you're opening for/what the night is billed as/the crowd you're expecting... sifting through a playlist that contains the hokey pokey and lena horne when you're playing a trance night doesn't make it any more "live" it just means you didn't prepare for the night...

Any live band follows a playlist for the night. They already have the songs they want to play lined up in advance. Once in a while, they will take audience requests, but even THAT portion is scripted into the night's performance.

Difference being people to to see a live band because of the music they create, vs the job of a dj which is more reactive to the crowd

Gotcha - DJ's do cater to the crowd way more than bands, but it's still a good idea to at least have a plan. Being flexible enough to work in new/different stuff into your set is the trade of a GOOD DJ.
I was just saying that "live" entertainment isn't as spontaneous as it appears.
