Serato Installs fine, no error. When I plug the DDJ-SX and turn it on, Widows detects the device and automatically installs some drivers and says that hardware is ready. Then, I start Serato DJ, and it says "No device connected" and I only can use it in offline mode.
I'm using Windows XP, and the requirements say Serato needs Windows 7. Is the problem related to that?? Will it work fine if I install Windows 7??

Hey Debugmaster,

Yes updating to Windows 7 should solve the issues you are having.

If you have any other questions please let me know.

Thanks.

I have finished the update to Windows 7, and it is not working. When Serato runs I can see the 4 decks for a second, then it changes to offline mode and "No device..." message. Also a error appears at the bottom of serato for a few seconds "Error connecting audio". The vumeters of every channel are fully illuminated if PC is selected in the source selector, but no sound comes of the unit.

I'm having the same issue - exactly the same (except I've been Win7 the whole time.

Hey Debugmaster,

I need you to check the following settings.

Connect the Pioneer DDJ-SX to the PC.

On your Windows bottom start bar in the right hand corner there should be an image of a little speaker, right click on this and select "PLAYBACK DEVICES"

Make sure the DEFAULT PLAYBACK is set to your ONBOARD sound card,
not the DDJ-SX.

Save these settings, close all folders and relaunch Serato DJ.

Does the DDJ-SX now connect?

Hi Jamie, I made what you said and I'm having the same problem. By the way, I saw that after setting my onboard audio as default, in the Playback Devices panel, the DDJ-SX appears as Default Comunication Device and a green phone icon appears next to it. It has something to do with that??
debugmaster 2:16 PM - 29 November, 2012
Removed the Default Communication Device setting, and it is not working. I also tried with a differente computer, an i7 with 4gb RAM and Windows 7 Ultimate, and it gives the same error.
Please, help.

Hey Debugmaster,

A couple things to check.

1. Can you try using a different USB cable?

2. Download MIDIOX from this link : www.midiox.com

3. Install MIDIOX and open the application, when you press buttons on the PIONEER DDJ-SX is MIDIOX getting a signal? This will show us if the DDJ-SX is connecting to the computer and sending messages at all.

4. If you are still having issues, it it possible to try installing SERATO DJ on another computer?

Let me know how you get on.

For me it was doing this b/c the drivers didn't install properly. Reinstalling the ddj sx drivers fixed this problem for me.

I had previously installed the website downloaded Serato DJ software on MY laptop (win 7) and hooked up the DDJ SX without issue.

Yesterday, we were settting it up on a different laptop (also win 7) and we ran into this problem.

Fix: As DJ JeffG mentioned, this time we had to go to the Pioneer site and download the driver for the controller

Hey Debugmaster,

As DJJeffG and DJ2006Rob have said, try reinstalling the Software and Drivers with the DDJ-SX connected.

Drivers for the SX can be downloaded from the link below:
www.pioneerelectronics.com

Let me know how you get on.
