Hey guys,
I just picked up SL-4 and upgraded to Serato 2.4.3. The issue is happening if I already have Serato open without the USB plugged in, after I connect the USB from the SL-4 I get a message saying that the program has stopped responding and then that it needs to close. This didn't use to happen with the SL-1, and I've read some other forums about the same issue with Macs, but it sounded like this hadn't been happening with PC's at this point.. but I am using a PC.
I'm running:
Dell XPS 15 laptop (L521x)
Windows 7 (64 bit) Service Pack 1
Serato 2.4.3.
I also upraged my BIOS before installing Serato to: L521XA12W
(I haven't tried re-installing the old BIOS yet in the hopes that maybe this is a known issue and I don't need to).
Thanks in advance,
Branden

Hey Branden,
This is a known issue in the Scratch Live software.
The workaround for the time being is to either make sure your SL4 is plugged in prior to opening SSL or to shut down SSL prior to unplugging the SL4.
This is scheduled to get fixed but I don't have an ETA as to when it will be.

Hmmm ok, not the end of the world for now. Minor issue but it will be great if it gets fixed in the future. It helps to know that it's not some other issue of mine at least, and thanks for the quick response.
For your records if it helps at all, I did re-install my previous version of SSL (2.4.2) and it did the same thing so I guess it's an SL-4 issue?
Thanks again,
B

Yes.. it doesn't matter what version of SSL you are using.
We do hope to see a fix soon!

Hey so I was just playing a show last night and was sharing the decks using SL-4, and when I passed one of the DJ's the usb to hook up I noticed his Serato was already open with a track loaded and just as I thought to myself "Uh-oh here comes the serato crash...", but instead it loaded up the perfectly and away he went.
I was just curious if you have any why this would be? All I could think was it was a different version of SSL, but your last post said that wouldn't matter..
All I know about his setup was it was an older Mac, and he normally uses a 57sl.
Thanks,
Branden

The reasons why the crash occurs is still being looked into.
I would be curious to know what the specs of the Mac is that was able to connect without crashing so I can relay that info to Serato.
