I would love it. But how? Changing the way we connect v7 decks to our macbook? maybe with two usb cables and than using the A B switch to swap from deck 1 - 2 to 3 - 4 ?

Hey Nephew, I would love 4 deck support for my Numark V7's. Love them so much awesome bits of kit.

Currently I am having to use ITCH on 2 laptops with 1 V7 plugged into each. It's a real pain in the arse because I have to use 2 library's 1 for each laptop. If I make a crate in one, I then have to make the same crate in the other one. I couldnt seem to find an easy way to just copy crate's from one library to the other. :(

So yes 4 decks for 2 x V7's on SERATO DJ PLEASE! There must be something you can do with the left/right deck switch's so the computer can differentiate between the 2 V7's on one PC.

+1 4 Decks for 2 x V7's :)

Hey all!

First post here, and I'm not sure if I should apologize for resurrecting such an old thread (though I do it with renewed purpose!)

Today, Serato released DJ v1.6, finally delivering support for our V7s. I was thrilled, because I'd not found anything that said SDJ 1.6 would NOT support 4 decks when paired with 2 V7s, and (despite too many years on the Internet) I'm a hopeless optimist.

It stands to reason, right? If one piece of hardware can act as two decks, and there is a built in ability for a second piece of that same hardware to communicate to/through the first piece... SURELY two physical decks could find some way to act as four soft-decks! The move to SDJ seemed like the perfect opportunity for that to happen, what with it already supporting 4 decks for other hardware components...

So I shot a note for clarification to Serato via social media (which eventually led to me finding these forums - hence the first post). They confirmed SDJ still only provides 2 deck functionality.

I'm a software developer by day, so I understand this is no trivial request. That said, is there a confounding reason this hasn't happened?

I know first-hand that managing a development team's efforts is often less about "CAN the team achieve this?" and more about "which features will please the most people?" But when you ALSO deal with supporting hardware, there are some intrinsic limitations that no amount of clever coding can work around.

I've yet to find any thread in my searching that clarifies whether the lack of 4 deck support is a matter of a hardware limitation (making the "issue" Numark's problem) or a technical possibility that has not been prioritized yet (putting responsibility on Serato's managerial shoulders). If anyone at Serato or Numark sets eyes on this, I'd love to hear his/her thoughts on the feasibility of the feature, even if it isn't a top priority. (And thank them in advance for the engagement on the topic!)

Cheers in any case,

A faithful V7 user...

TL;DR: +1 for 4 decks w/ V7s.

This is the update i've been waiting for!
No 4 deck suport, for me it means it's over.

so it's impossible to use internal sound interface(s) for 4 decks via lan cable, ok

so it might be impossible to use 2 sound interfaces with the same program in windows, mh okay don't care about mac

so it might be impossible to make the OS recognize the 2 pieces of hardware via USB as 2 seperate machines, are you kidding me?

so one doesn't even consider making use of the two V7 as just midi controllers in order to use a separate sound interface, looks like planned obsolescence.......

it's such a shame, i guess many would buy a third piece of hardware that would allow this... or much simpler: why cant we just launch two instances of any serato software that allows to control the V7?

Am i the only around here who thinks the V7 is high-end gear?

Yes, but if not what is the cheapest way I can add two more decks from another small controller add-on?
