artists charging for drops is an idiot ting, and we wonder why dancehall is in the toilet...

Its more for studio time costs - we cut dubs weekly and plenty of them as were a big clash sound , so jingles are free , but for those who want jingles and drops without dubs it costs , not alot but it covers costs ,

gotcha, but seening this happening too often outside of this context - worse when it some hurry come up one song artist who think seh dem bus

good management should have artists booking extra time after voicing etc to just churn out drops for radio and sounds

Yea i totaly agree , we work with some artists really close , sizzla, tarrus riley , Bramma and many more, I prefer to do it as helping build relationships with artists and helping others

I make no money what so ever, I talk to bramma daily, so he does my intros and jingles plus gets all his artist friends to do them , we also run dubplates.com

Have a busy few weeks voicing dubs and jingles , Big clashes coming up , Happy to help people voice , but I can't always get jingles for free if there recording dubs at the time it's always easier as there in the studio. But it all depends on the artist, most won't go there just to do one jingle or a few jingles as it costs them money, which is why they charge, unless voicing dubs then they will do them free 99% of the time.

DJs, BEWARE!!!!!! I just had the worst experience dealing with these people. If you got your drop done for free, you were lucky. But if you're considering paying, don't. I'd be happy to forward my not-so-wonderful e-mail chain to anyone interested.

Here is just a little bit of the exchange. I'm screwed as this service is based in Ghana. I stupidly paid in advance and got burned. Lesson learned. Just spreading the word so it doesn't happen to anyone else. They took my money and ran.
