Yes...it is a horrible "infomercial" BUT;
I can see pre-recorded music being spun at clubs this way with that gadget.
Im VERY surprised that the regulars who clown "microwave DJ's" have yet to comment. This gadget could easily replace Serato, and the Pro DJ forever.

As great as I think Serato is, my 18 plus years of DJ experience - puts me in the same "playing field" as someone who understands, and grasps technology like myself.
This gadget, like Serato could / can easily eliminate DJ's who worked years on skill and craft.
For further and final clarification, I am NOT jabbing at Serato, or even new technology. I keep up on technology more than the average DJ, even if I cant afford the toy / gadget of the moment.

And you wonder why Sharper Image can't afford to honor their own gift cards . . .
It's because they peddle crap like that.
Well, maybe those competitive air band people can find some use for it. If I saw that in a club, I'd break random beams just to mess with the "dj" behind the booth.

what will happen if you stick a mirror in front of the beam, or better yet, shoot a laser pointer back into the emmiter?

I don't see this changing the music game, but I can see me wasting alot of time with this at the crib. It would make a cool party game, on some George Jetson type shit.

This thing is the shittiest piece of shit I've seen in a while. All of those sounds were total trash--everything sounded like it was off a shitty Casio from Wal-Mart. If it sent MIDI information, that might be different...

That sound has to be prerecorded. Don't assume that someone playing live would really sound that perfect. Especially the shwagfaces they have in that video.
