Recording with Cubase LE

I have the lastest versions of SL and Cubase LE. I am able to start my audio recording in cubase, but as soon as I switch my window to SL the recording auto. stops. Its as if the recording is only active when the cubase window is active.
When I record straight phono there isn't a problem B/c I am not leaving the cubase window.
Is there a setting that I am missing in Cubase? Also, I noticed during playback if I switch windows from cubase to something else it as well stops playing until I click back on the Cubase window.

Operating System Windows XP SP2

Please if anyone can assist it will be much appreciated, thank you.

Adobe Audition does this also, I'm not sure about Cubase but in Audition there's an option to "release audio driver in background" and this stops it from "stopping" when you switch screens/programs. Check around for some type of option like that in Cubase, it might be in general preferences or the the soundcard preferences menu.

Same Thing Happens Wit Me. A Seperate Laptop For SSL Solves The Problem.
