When ssl saves the wavform (or whatever other info it saves) when you close ssl, does it save it to the mp3 itself? I ask becuase I delete all my songs and reload my laptop every couple weeks or so..... I figure if that info is saved elsewhere, it will start to become a big folder of unnecessary stuff..... to put it simple, if I want to wipe all data (other than the ssl app itself) off my laptop and restart on a regular basis, what all do I need to delete? just the mp3s?.....

Data like cuepoints, analyzed stripes (and I think whether the song has to be looped or not= are stored into the mp3s(tags) itself. Except the database where song informations like song length, bitrate reside. These are of course also in the mp3 itself, but you have to map those songs once so SSL knows them, then they are written to the database file, which is located on the drive where the mp3 file resides, there in the root folder you can find a ".ScratchLive" folder.

so, if Im going to remove a song from my ssl laptop and I want it completely gone, do I need to delete the stuff in that scratchlive folder as well? basically, my concern is that I will take a song off today..... add it again in a couple weeks with maybe changes to the id3 tag and I dont want confusion in ssl

djpetey, if you delete a song from your laptop, in SL when you go to load it up it will have no song info and an exclimation point will be next to the song in the playlist. You can then just delete it from the All library in SL.I have deleted songs that were baddly encoded, added ID3 tags and re-encoded them, and SL would read the MP3 with all the new info added.

Not only that, but in the next version of scratch live, there is a button you can press on the setup screen that will rescan all the tags in your scratch live collection. Then you can sort by the status column, to find all the missing files and remove them from your collection.

Damn, You guys just keep upping the ante! I would think after another major upgrade (2.0) you would have no competition. Thanks.

Just so you guys know, the version we're working on is actually 1.2, I don't imagine there will be a version 2 of scratch live for quite a while.
