Anyone use Batch Converters?

'Sup,
I have a bunch of WMA files that are 'legal'. In other words they were obtained and bought through Napster-like sites. These WMA files are specially encoded so that one cannot convert them to any other format. Does anyone know of any converter software/utility that would allow me to bypass the DRM (Digital Rights Management) on these files and convert WMA files? I've tried Sound Forge 5.0, but it'll only allow one file at a time, instead of, more conveniently, many at once. Any, and I mean ANY help would be greatly appreciated as I have quite a few WMA files on my hard drive. I honsetly wouldn't care for converting these files if SSL could read WMA. That'd be cool, but that's another thread.

Even with WMA support, the DRM stuff might be another story in terms of decoding them.

Haiku, there is an app called BatchConverter from Sonic Foundry, that might help you doing batch converts.

when the digital conversion method fails, try the analog solution:
play the file out of your computer and record it in (ie: loop output to input and record) there will be negligible difference in quality (please read the other threads about the re-encoding debate). after all, this is how people converted records to cassettes in the 80s.

A much much better solution is, trying one of those apps which give you "virtual soundcard" with several ins and outs, you can route the output to the virtual soundcard, and then route it to a virtual out, and record it with a normal recording tool. Thats of course, as 3pm said, basically reencoding, but I disagree that its only a little difference in quality, if your read the reencoding debate thoroughly you should be aware if ithis.

This is the tool I was talking about
spider.nrcde.ru . I dont know about the WMA players, whether you can choose the output device or not, but if this is possible, then it shouldnt be any problem to capture the audio data digitally.

I know you guys are just helping Haiku out to get his stuff playing, but bypassing DRM isn't exactly legal in some places so just email any further tips please. I'm gonna lock this now.
