When I connect my SL1 Box to my USB it still tells me hardware is not detected. I tried re-installing the drivers and still has the same problem. I have been using 2.3.3 because 2.4.1 has been glitching/automatically disconnecting from my laptop when I am in the middle of a DJ session (My laptop is a Dell Studio).
I dont have any hard-drive problems because I just got a new one.

Please let me know if there is a solution for this!!

I would like to add that when I plug in the serato box and look at the Universal Serial Bus Controls,
the Serato Box shows up as an Unknown Device and not actually as SL1

More info:

When I look at the Driver Status it tells me "No Drivers Are Installed For This Device"
I have followed the common procedure which Serato Support has giving everybody:

Updating The Driver for each USB Port through the program files
Un-installing and Re-installing the software
Reverting from 2.4.1 to 2.3.3 to 2.0

My other Audio boxes and External Sound Cards still work perfectly so Im not sure if it is my Serato Box? I noticed that even when i un-installed serato and the drivers, the blue light still came on. Not sure if that means anything or if there is anything I can do about it...

First off you should turn off UAC:

Go into the Control Panel.

(Make sure your in Classic View)

Click 'User Accounts'.

Click on the option towards the bottom "turn user account controls on/off" and uncheck the "use UAC..." option.

Restart your computer and test your setup again.

Once done, you will need to open the 'device manager':

Click Start menu.
Right click on Computer and choose 'manage'.
Click on the 'device manager'.

Now locate the Serato usb device under the 'serial bus controllers', right click on it,
and choose to uninstall.
During the uninstall process make sure to check the option in the lower left corner of
the window that pops up that says "delete driver software'.

Once the driver is gone, unplug the SL1 into a different usb port on your computer and follow these directions:

1. Shut down any program you have open.
2. Click on the Start menu in the lower left corner of your desktop.
3. Click on All Programs.
4. Click on the Serato folder.
5. Click on the ScratchLIVE folder.
6. Double click the 'Update Driver' link.

Once updated try opening SSL.

If it still says 'hardware disconnected' try unplugging and replugging the SL1 into the same port.

If your still having issues you'll need to go back to the device manager and uninstall the driver using the directions above again.

Once done, unplug the SL1, plug it into another usb port, and follow the directions to install the driver via the 'update driver' link.

If it still doesn't work uninstall it and try it on another port.
You get the idea.

Hopefully you'll find one port that works.

I would also suggest unplugging ANY other usb devices prior to trying to install the SL1 driver.

Any luck?

I am still having the connection problem and my hardware is not being detected. I have tried all the methods listed above and even most of the other procedures on other threads. I recently obtained a Mac as well and even on my new computer serato is not being detected (SL1 2.3.3).

This has lead me to think that it may be the Serato Box itself which is glitching or is not broadcasting the proper usb signal. How can I do one final check to make sure that it is in fact the box which is malfunctioning? And then, how do I go about sending the box in for repair?

In addition, when I connect the box to my Dell Studio, it tells me that "the usb device connected has malfunctioned" and it is being listed as an unknown device. Before it would show up as recognized/serato hardware... This leads me to believe that it is i fact the box which needs repairs

If you've tested it on a Mac and its still not connecting chances are it is an issue with the SL1.
A final, and sure proof test, would be to test it on a friend's setup who also uses his/her own SL1.
If you swapped his/hers with yours and it still didn't work than it would definitely be your SL1.
Obviously try using a different USB cable too.

If you find you need to get your unit serviced give us a call and we'll sort it out --> serato.com

Cool.. let us know:)
Swiss Kid Legacy 1:22 PM - 5 July, 2012
So I have officially verified and my box is probably not working. How do I go about sending it in for repair and approximately how long do you think it will take to be up and running and for me to receive it back?
