has anyone tried using these? i have a macbook and i'm thinking of getting a mpd24 but i only have 2 usb ports. one has the 57 the other has my external hd. and my external only has usb output (no firewire).

Much better solution: use a drive connected via Firewire.

i do mean usb hub. and djmark, why would i spend $200 on a new drive instead of &15 on a usb hub?

i went out and bought a logitech usb hub. it works perfectly. for those who plan on getting one of these, you have to have the 57 (or probably SSL box) plugged in directly to the laptop. it will not be recognized if it goes through the hub. i have my hard drive and mpd going through the hub and there are no ill effects.

I use a powered USB hub with SSL all the time with no issues. Just don't put your 57 or SL1 on the hub and you will be fine.
