Has anybody used a mini mac for serato...I am in the process of shopping around and dont see why this would be a bad decision i just havvent heard of anyone doing this yet...Its either a mini mac or a VAIO....Please if i could get some feedback it would be greatly appreciated.

No reason that it shouldnt work. Seems a little strange since I imagine Serato as a portable solution. But the Mac Mini + keyboard, mouse & Monitor seems like a lo cost and still effective way to go. I would an exteral drive tho; I dont seem to trust the MTBF of laptop harddrives in a desktop scenario.

Two of my friends have purchased mini macs and both have had problems with them.

the one we got here was hella slow with it's standard 256M of RAM and a real pain to get open to install more. The new ones would likely be alot better though...

A laptop drive should last longer in a desktop than a laptop as it is staying still and not being shaken/dropped all the time.

thankfully all the new Mac Mini's come with 512 megs of ram.

yes, but the old refurbs are only $399. so much computer in such a small box.
