A buddy of mine recommended I check out Scratch Live, and me being me I didn't read exactly what that means before hand. I installed Scratch Live, plugged in my TWITCH, and nothing happened. By which I mean I plugged in the TWITCH, the touch strips started animating, but nothing else happened. Even with all Serato software closed, the animation continues. The TWITCH is never "available" on the computer.
Putting it into advanced mode (holding the Library knob and pressing Back + Fwd) does not work either.
I've deleted Scratch Live, used launchctl at the command like to kill off all of the Rane mixer background processes, re-installed ITCH, and even re-installed the TWITCH drivers explicitly from Novation's site, but nothing happens!
I don't see anything interesting in the Mac's "Console" log app. When I open OS X's "System Information" app, plug in the TWITCH and refresh, there is one "unnamed" device:
Vendor-Specific Device:
Product ID: 0x3200
Vendor ID: 0x0451 (Texas Instruments)
Version: 0.00
Speed: Up to 12 Mb/sec
Manufacturer: USB Device - By Haim Eliyahu
Location ID: 0xfa130000 / 7
Current Available (mA): 500
Current Required (mA): Unknown (Device has not been configured)
So it seems to me that my TWITCH is no longer recognized on the Mac, and I'm not sure why.
Tried different USB ports, nadda. Disconnected EVERYTHING plugged in via USB, the TWITCH alone is plugged in, nadda.
...help?

One change, there is something interesting in the Console:
"4/3/12 12:25:33.646 AM System Preferences: Error loading /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/HAL/SeratoVirtualAudioPlugIn.plugin/Contents/M
acOS/SeratoVirtualAudioPlugIn: dlopen(/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/HAL/SeratoVirtualAudioPlugIn.plugin/Con
tents/MacOS/SeratoVirtualAudioPlugIn,262): no suitable image found. Did find:
/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/HAL/SeratoVirtualAudioPlugIn.plugin/Contents/M
acOS/SeratoVirtualAudioPlugIn:mach-o, but wrong architecture"
I wouldn't imagine that would prevent the whole use of the hardware, but what do I know. Does this mean anything meaningful?

Hey VXJasonxV,
When you go into the AUDIO MIDI WIndow on your Mac and you see it pop up as a unnamed device. Try disconnecting your Twitch and then deleting that icon and then reconnecting your Twitch. See if it pops up again but this time named as Twitch in that Audio Midi Window?
Let me know if that works.
Regards

Hi Dave,
At this point I'm using a completely different (also, completely clean) computer than before:
MacBook Pro, running Lion 10.7.3.
I installed ITCH 2.2 on it the other day, hit 'customize' and was sure to check the TWITCH Audio Drivers box, installed the software, restarted the computer.
Today I finally had a chance to connect the ITCH, but the same problem is occurring. The touchstrips illuminate and animate the bands outwards, but the device never shows up and connects to my computer. Same problem as before, System Information lists a generic Texas Instruments device, this is with no other device plugged into the computer. Literally nothing, not even power.
I'm opening a ticket with Novation, I fear something may be wrong.

May be wrong > perhaps physically with the TWITCH. Or something specific to it.

Hey Jason,
I fear you maybe right. Have you checked your firmware is up to date?
Open ITCH>SETUP>Hardware> Firmware. Make sure it says it's up to date, if not it should give you the option there to update if need be.
Also check your drivers are up to date: www.novationmusic.com
After that.... Maybe contact your closest Novation retailer.

Dave,
The TWITCH doesn't connect to my computer, so it never shows up in setup. So I can't check Firmware.
I have (re)installed ITCH 2.2, and have explicitly installed Novation's 2.3 and 2.4 USB Drivers, restarting each time. None of these have seemed to resolve the issue.

Yeah well guess it's an issue with the controller, let me know how you go with Novation.
