Satnton str8-150 tunrtable with Shure m-447's and some butter Rug Slipmats
WarpNote 10:13 AM - 21 March, 2012
If your also gonna play house/latin afro, you probably want some slipmats that are a little stickier then the Butter Rugs. A good all round slipmat is the DR Suzuki Mix Edition
However Butter Rugs are very good for scratching. Heres a good selection..

The Stanton str8-150 is great, personally I prefer the S arm, and Technics 1200/1210 both for feel and they easily fit the novation dicers.. www.novationmusic.com

I mix Latin music every week with my Stanton ST 150s, I have butter rugz with wax paper under neath. It's slick buy you can adjust, mixing old school bachata and salsa is a pain no matter what medium you use. Just my 2 cents

Dont mess around.. get the OG and the only DJ Turntable known around the globe.. Technics 1200 or 1210.. If you cant find them ect.. the Vestax's are pretty good. But i would still say go technics.. You cant go wrong

agreed but lets be clear, most clubs that have technics are old and not taken care of. If you wanna perform with tables I find it better to bring your own out the house unless you know what condition stuff will be in.
Lonestarr 5:46 PM - 22 March, 2012
True but Technics are built like tanks.. They lasted generations already and will be past down again.. They can always be reworked and customized very cheaply.. Thats what i did with a pair of mine myself.. Theres easy tutorials all over the web.. you cant do that with any other table really.. If something messes up you can find parts easy all over
djnonstopla323 11:31 PM - 22 March, 2012
I had technics before and the stantons are build better than the technics imo ....plus sooner or later stantons will be the industry I seen more and more at clubs

Hey guys, i appreciate your advices

Check this out...

Techniques turntables they are out of question for me, because their prices in my country, is too much abusive...

BUT..

I found the Stanton T 62 here in my country Sao Paulo - Brazil , new product for a good price

www.bhphotovideo.com

What you can say about that, anybody already use?

Remembering, I like to play all kinds of music, A lot eletronic music, house stuffs that i like, and non eletronic music to, has i said before, old vinyls and use serato time code for my digital library

So... i can have some problems to do my stuff with this turntables, i think is it a good turntable, professional, direct drive, what you can say about that? that's what my money can buy heheh, is a good deal to play eletronic and no eletronic music?

Thanks :)

NO!

ST-150 or STR0150 ONLY with stanton or you WILL BE DISSAPOINTED!
disco420 1:35 PM - 23 March, 2012
sure man? why?

i forget one thing, the straight vs S arm.... the straight arm can be a trouble for me ?
HYDRO MATIC 2:10 PM - 23 March, 2012
The platter or the 150 series is not the same nor is the motor or housing.

Basically its similar in shape and form but the parts your concerned with are all different.

S arm Straight Arm...its SSl so its on you...personally knowing that straight arms are harder on record wear I think S arm for the WIN!
DJ Remy USA 3:01 PM - 23 March, 2012
discoman you can get the stanton T120 series if you dont wanna get the the 150s they both have the same motor and platter. I would get the S tonearm the straight arm just doesnt do it for me at all. It wears records faster and since your prolly a newb with tables your gonna kill records anyways why not kill them slowly

As a Stanton DJ I love my STR-8's and I put my Technics in the closet almost after 27 years of having a pair. Now almost a year of spinning on the Stanton's there better than 1200's never thought would say that while I was alive but honestly I brought a pair then got with Stanton so I can speak freely when I talk about a product I endorse!

yea housing is diff but the motor and platter are the same. T120s are good tables Ive used them. They dont have all the extra features like the 150s.
DJ Remy USA 3:42 PM - 23 March, 2012
also check out these tables if your abroad from the states.

Synq XTRM1
Reloop RP6000
Akiyama Acura
Citronic PD45
Omnitronic DD5250
American Audio HTD4.5

same exact specs as the stantons 150s and 120s
HYDRO MATIC 3:58 PM - 23 March, 2012
thats why I said in my original post that the housings were different...I know the dampning in the 150 can handle club level volumes. And constant road abuse

Hello everybody, thanks a lot for your advices, and i choose to buy a pair of Technics Sl1200 Mk2 and expend a little bit more of money, i think is a more secure way!

Now, as i said I'm totally new with this equipaments, I'm always play with cds, but now i have some money and i can play with vinyl that's what i always wanted

so....

About the needles and cartridges, i seeing are a lot of models in this equipaments, what you can recommend to me to play with Serato Scratch Live and my old records...

House/Funk/Disco/Soul/Acid Jazz/ as i said, everything, electronic and no electronic music..

thank you guys!!!
WarpNote 4:03 AM - 5 April, 2012
I use 447's www.shure.com on technics headshells
& QBert concorde's www.ortofon-dj.com
Love them both.
DJ Super Mario 4:42 AM - 5 April, 2012
Good choice on the Technics SL1200 MK2s! I love mine and have had the pair I gig with over a decade and still act and look brand new. In the long run I'm sure you'll be much happier with them than the Stantons (which I owned a pair of also). I use M44's also like WarpNote. Great cartridge/needle for all applications! Best of luck!
dJ_sIK 7:16 AM - 5 April, 2012
technics 1210's mk2 or mk5 or m5g's.
shure m44-7 with black headshells
dr suzuki slipmats

if u cant afford em now, wait until you can
if buy used, make sure they look immaculate

trust me dont buy anything else, everything else is crap
Niro 11:21 AM - 5 April, 2012
Audio technical LP 1240 might be the 1200 replacement. Price and features, played with it today and was pretty impressed.
dJ_sIK 8:23 AM - 5 May, 2012
nah! stick to technics...
