Hey all,
It doesn't seem like Video SL shows the lighting bolt when a file is corrupt like Scratch Live does.
How are you suppose to know if a video file is corrupt? (Besides when it crashes LOL)
Is there any software program out there that will scan all your video files and show which are corrupt before you load them into your laptop?
Thanks for your help!

Scratch Live does all the analysing work, whether with video or audio files. If your videos don't show up as corrupt, they almost certainly aren't.
HOWEVER 2.3.3 is much better at picking up corrupt files than any older version.
A lot of people including myself have made the upgrade successfully. Up to you though.
The other option is to use Serato's little utility MovieInfoBatch, which will tell you if a file supports internal metadata or not (most corrupt files have metadata issues).

Thanks for your reply Bob.
I'm on 1.9.2 and scared to upgrade because the forum is packed with people having tons of issues with 2.2 and 2.3.
As far as I can see.....Video SL doesn't have a spot in the crate window to show a "Lighting bolt" Icon to tell you a Video is corrupt like it does with MP3.....unless I'm missing something...

If it is corrupt it will appear instead of the red filmstrip icon, don't worry about that.
Back when I ran 1.9.2 I thought exactly the same as you actually. I even asked the same question on the forum, because I'd never seen a corrupt video icon!
Because 1.9.2 readily writes the OVB and XML metadata files in the SL folder, files with tag issues tend to not show as corrupt but you might have issues with tags 'sticking'.
As for upgrading, I can't advise you either way, only to say it works for me.
What I did was fully clone my HD before upgrading, so I knew I could roll back if I needed to.
