Active tops, passive bottom..and an extra passive speaker or two..Hook up?!

Here's the puzzle...I have 2 active tops (ev elx15) and two passive subs (peavey pv118) also in the mix are 2 B52 lx218 2 ways. I also have 2 amps and a crossover...What is the best way to hook all this up at once with a ttm 57 (or best way to hook up whatever is needed, might not need both amps..but it's available).

The room I am doing is pretty large and will def benefit from having a set of speakers in front and in back/along side. I have a an idea of how to hook this up...(Ev's through main, subs and b52 through booth..amp...crossover) But if anyone has some other ways to do this, I'm all ears.... Thanks..

grab a small live sound mixer. It will have a main out, aux1 out, aux2 out, control room out, etc... that will give you independent volume control over each set of speakers (usually speakers in the back of the room don't need to be as loud)

Whoa! So we're not talking about gay hookups? Well, in that case, I'm out! (no homo)

This is probably the best way if you don't want to buy other gear. Which speakers are you going to use front of house with the subs? If you are using the EVs as mains with the subs things could get a little weird if you try to control the volume to the crossover with that booth out.

^ yeah, I was informed that going from the 57 main out to the crossover -low freq- amp - subs. Then crossover high freq - ev tops, then the out on the ev tops to the second amp and then b52's would be a viable solution also..and can control all from main volume output..

Should look into using a Driverack or similar crossover/limiter/delay/kitchen sink... If the second set of speakers are far enough away, you will want to put a delay on them to align the sound to the main speakers output.

ended up borrowing a pair of jbl prx615 tops and pair of 118xlf subs. Used EV's for montiors.

Decided I'll sell all the passive stuff and invest in some xlf subs..make everything easier.
