i would like to see in depth tutorials/seminars on 2 things.
1) quartz files
2) syphon

a syllabus and information as to who would lead them and what app, programs, comps, thrid party devices they will be using beforehand would be great.

Im waiting till the 3rd-4th conference. Ya gotta work out the bugs first. Id pay $500 a ticket if I actually learned something. Last years was ok being that it was the first. I just wish there was more organization involved. The majority of my friends thought it was a waste of time and money and was more of a way to get all of the SV hommies some exposure in Vegas. Great idea but all I got out of it was some cool pics, networking and a hangover. Lol. More vendors and some more clinics that actually teach. A video DJ battle would have been cool to see.

Just excitedly checked flight prices from the UK... and... I shan't be joining you. Ouch!

Last one was cool but it seemed a little unorganized which is understandable since it was the first. i would expect all the bugs from previous to be worked out like the power or the noise coming from other room. Also a free DVD at the 1st Con was mentioned but I haven't heard anything about it after that. Also maybe a little more in depth details about a few programs. Not sure if this is possible but maybe 2 separate rooms, one for cats just starting and the other for advanced users. It was really cool meeting DJs with the same passion for VJing though.

Demon - Thanks! Yes we are planning to have several rooms at this one and make certain seminars broken down in much more details for skill and experience level. Larger screens and more one on one interaction.

The DVD is a bit more complicated as there was a severe problem in the recording. It's still being worked on and we're hoping to still honor producing something from the previous conference.

Hopefully anyone in a battle will edit their own stuff, but they might not

Crowd voting is always biased especially if they have a ton of friends, but since we're all dj's it might work.

This will be my first time to attended the VIDEO CONFERENCE....Can't wait!!

For the Vj challenge I say multiple videos, cannot be pre-mixed. Not including mashups, but where the entries entire performance is pre mastered in Final cut and Live, and the only thing they are actually performing with is a scratch track. I say that a requirement for entry is the set has to be broken down on a sheet of paper with a min of 3 - 4 separate tracks.

Why not just have camera on the set up from above/behind and a screen above the competitors and the there video set in the middle. This should be easy, actually was done for the 3styles. But they put the cameras in front and a lot of people had prerecorded sets and scratched on certain parts.

I guess you'll have to come out and be there in person to see what we're gonna do! Videodjbattle.net will launch this week with Entry Rules & Regulations

I say you give the contestants a core library of vidz and they are only allowed to add 7 additional clips and 5 additional tracks....give em 20 minutes to study and then--POP QUIZ, Showtime.

Can you purchase individual sessions when you are at the conference or do you have to do it when you register online? There are a couple I was thinking I might want to go to but not completely sure yet and I want to register before it's too late. Also, with there be someone speaking about the relevance of video DJing in present day/future club culture? I have had Serato video for a while and I book gigs where people could care less about seeing music videos, they just want music. Maybe it is because of the area I have been DJing in but I made just as much at one spot spinning only music as another guy I know who played videos (at the same spot) so I didn't even waste my time doing videos when I'm not going to make any more money doing it.
