Files mixes by the video junkies and a few others are not storing metadata in the .mp4 container, file attached for review. moviebatch shows the container supports metadata

Ha some are some are not, regardless there is an issue with the way it handles the file. I have found the same issue with some of my own edits done in Vegas, but I have already re-encoded them

Hi DJ Sound Technique,
Sorry to hear your having issues with your video files, lets get this sorted.
I downloaded the files that you have attached here, then imported them into Scratch Live 2.3.3 both of the files analyzed OK. I added cue points and wrote a couple of Song TAGS.
Closed Scratch Live and re-opened. All seemed OK.
Could you please clarify which TAGs were not being saved ? Artist/Album/etc....

Yeah it saves them as metadata, not in the .mp4, you got it to save in the .mp4?

Hi DJ Sound Technique,
OK, here is the skinny on this one;
As you know from Scratch Live 2.3.3 on the MP4 TAG Lib has been refactored and is NOT backwards compatible.
The metadata is not written to the mp4 file if;
1) There is already a .xml and .ovb for that file in your metadata folder.
2) The file is corrupt.
3) The file is decoded by QuickTime but isn't an mpeg4 container. ie.flv's, some .mov and avi files.
If .xml and .ovbs are in use, then those will still be used (and nothing will be written to file). The only way to write to file is to delete the .xml and .ovb files but you will loose all cue and loop data etc, and will have to add it back manually. This of course assumes that the file can actually be written to (i.e. it's a valid mpeg4 container)
...any subsequent changes to that data will not be readable by pre 2.3.3 versions.
We don't delete the original metadata. So the old original (now converted) meta data will still be able to be read by pre 2.3.3.
The files you have attached are writing to the .ovb and .xml files so as stated above you can delete these from your metadata folder and write new tags but if the files are corrupt then you will need to re-encode them.
