Dj'ing with Smart Sync on..why have to press it all the time to reset?

seratosnatch 5:40 PM - 29 January, 2012
I like dj'ing with sync (Smart Sync ON)..Why one must reset the sync to start "Smart Sync" on every new track loaded? Shouldn't it stay on all the time..like in Traktor or 1.7?
Perhaps I have something not set correctly or enabled in prefs?
DJPrice_inMD 2:56 PM - 30 January, 2012
I too seem to get confused by Smart Sync, sometimes the track will sync both BPM and stay on beat, then other times I have to reset the Sync buttons to get the cued track to nudge to the correct marker when I am fading into it. I shouldn't have to hit sync to nudge the track playing through master to the correct marker on the cued song, but this is what behavior Itch wants unless I delete+Sync and reset them again.

I just wish the sync would stay on, unless I tell it not to.
It is annoying all the time to hit sync..or a pref.

maybe we should have the option in setup to keep "on" always or as it currently works?
hamplifier 8:17 PM - 6 February, 2012
i like to have to press sync every time i load a track , i cant stand having it on constantly its a pain in the ass

I complained about this when 2.1 first went to public beta.

Apparently it is the behaviour that most users wanted.

I'm not one of those users, but here we are.

For me it sux..I prefer an option to keep it on like in 1.7

i think its not want most people wanted just it was to hard to get out of sync and back to the right bmp so serato found the fastest fix lol

phatbob 11:19 PM - 7 February, 2012

I don't use it but how else would keep 4 tracks in ... "sync"? lol
DJ Laurex 11:30 PM - 7 February, 2012
Not trying to make fun of you or anything but I just never used it and I play anything from house to reggae to Indian music and all.Must be the turntablist in me.
DJ Laurex 11:32 PM - 7 February, 2012
BTW I don't do 4 only 2.
phatbob 11:35 PM - 7 February, 2012
Each to his own.

I use 50/50 Scratch Live and Itch with smart sync. The crowd don't care which.
DJ Laurex 11:36 PM - 7 February, 2012
LOl!!! true dat...in the end all that matters is the crowd so do u!!!

4 decks is a good reason to use sync. The drifting of 4 tracks is very hard to manage manually when you have 4 actual platters let alone only 2 platters with layer switches. I've seen it done but you basically have to already have rehearsed it numerous times not on the fly freestyle mixing.

I like mixing with simple sync. I think its great, sure tracks drift a little I noticed.

2 v7 Rane mixer. So hitting the bend every so isn't so bad.

My 3 cents.
