After setting a cue point on a song... Press play and nothing will play... If I then tap the platter, the song will play... If I decide to create a new cue point and then press play again, same problem, play/pause button is inactive... I can always get the song to play by touching the platter but it does get a little annoying / frustrating... I have tried with different songs to make sure it is not a specific track but it's an issue with every song... *** If i keep my cue point and do not set a new one, after I touch the platter once, then the play/pause button will work...

I'm not sure if this is a known bug or not, but thought id ask anyway... Please help

Serato fixed a few bugs in the mep 7000 with this release but this is the first I've heard of this issue. If you revert to this version -->serato.com does it start working again as it should?
HighclassDJ 8:58 PM - 28 December, 2011
Both in the version you sent me and the 2.2.0 I have been using this problem is NOT there... Only in 2.3.3 is this problem present...

This sounds like a version specific bug. We don't have a mep 7000 here but I know the Serato guys have one at their office. I will ask them to try and duplicate this.

Your steps are - ?
Set cue point on a song
Press play and nothing will play
Tap the platter, the song will play
Create a new cue point
Press play again, same problem, play/pause button is inactive
HighclassDJ 10:41 PM - 28 December, 2011
That is correct... only when setting your first cue point or a new cue point... if you press load to load the track it will play, BUT as soon as you try and set a cue point the play/pause button becomes inactive... Once you tap the platter the song with play and the play/pause button will become ACTIVE and it will stay active until you set another or new cue point again...
HighclassDJ 10:44 PM - 28 December, 2011
on my first sentence above.... I should have said if you just load a track and press play without setting a cue point the play button WILL work... the problem happens after setting a cue...

Thank you for the help and follow up...

Hey HighclassDJ,

We have logged this bug with the team here and they are looking into a fix. Unfortunately I couldn't give you a timeframe as to when this could be available though sorry. I'll try and get some more information though.

Cheers,

Sam.

I'm having the same issue with the MEP 7000 & SL3.

load track
Set cue point
Deck and waveform freezes, u cannot even move the white arrow with the mouse in internal mode.
When you try any button on the frozen deck of the mep it highlights in serato but nothing happenes.

Back to 2.2 :(

again....

Paddy... If you hit play and you see the play button highlight in serato, nothing happens... But if you touch the platter on the frozen deck... it will un-freeze and play and will not freeze again until you set another cue point correct??? Thats whats happening with me...
Paddy_V 11:07 AM - 9 January, 2012
yes to the first part with regards to the play button and nothing happening.
I'm not sure about touching the platter, I'll try that when I'm back out working on Wednesday.

Thank god for the backup USB ports!!!

Good Luck! I actually bring back up.. in my console I also have a denon HC4500 and a 2nd serato box and bring 2 laptops... I got tired of panicking, LOL...

Also new driver supposed to come out for MEP end of january... Maybe it'll help with something too until serato comes out with a fix... see link below

same issue - imo def a bug with new version... seems typical

2.2 is latest release that works flawlessly with MEP 7000
Paddy_V 4:06 PM - 17 January, 2012
yeap, problem has not been resolved in latest release.

as high class dj says, if you touch the jog wheel on the frozen deck it will get the track moving again. still totally unusable though.

back to 2.2 gents!
HighclassDJ 6:44 PM - 17 January, 2012
yup... minus the the improper artists and titles showing on the display, 2.2 is the way... I've actually been using 2.3.3 to see if there are any other bugs...
Paddy_V 7:12 PM - 17 January, 2012
do the artists and titles actually work in 2.3.3?
I thought they were still not working when I used it.
HighclassDJ 5:09 AM - 20 January, 2012
they show up properly about 65% of the time...
HighclassDJ 9:15 PM - 25 January, 2012
Oh, how I wish we had an update on this... LOL

Definitly, I've a costumer with the same problem... And as he just bought a SL4, there is no way back to 2.2 ...
