Serato Software Feature Suggestions
more cue-points
What features would you like to see in Serato software?
more cue-points

with the new feature "drop to cue points" it would be nice to have three cuepoints more. For some scratch-action it would be nice to mark more points. I suggest only 3 more cause of space on the gui and you have in the worst case 2 minutes left on the record. You can't use them with the TTM or the keyboard-shortcuts, but you can use the mouse or the record to use them.

What new feature "drop to cue points" are you talking about? Did Serato do a "Splice"?
If so, when, where? This is my #1 request.

+1 especially when we can use 16pads midi controller like MPD, TF, or Korg.

With midi the options are huge... I just plugged in my MPD 24.. and it fully works as a sampler. I'd like to be able to assign 16 cue points so that I can fully map them to my pads and use like a sampler

or u could use midi to jump to the additional cuepoints...+20

i'd like a SHORT description for each cue point too..like 10 characters or something... Colors just dont do it for me.

+1 on that one
Yeah, after getting the MPD24, I've been missing more cue points myself.

2 decks, each 5 cue points = 10 cue points = exactly the number of numbers on your keyboard (1234567890) to trigger them individually I guess :)

That's what I thought.. but it should NOT limit the number just because of keyboard shortcuts options..
Limit the number of keyboard shortcuts to 5 per deck but allow extra cue points, they are not JUST used with keyboard shortcuts.. (I use them with a midi controller, drop to cue point and just as visiual reffrences...)

Sometimes I use cue points as markers with no intention of actually ever cuing to that point of the song. For instance to mark where the break begins and ends, where bad words are, or to mark good mix out points to start the next record. So unless there is a specific reason why not have a whole bunch (like at least 20) if not infinite amount of cue points?

+1 I do the same and always seem to run short of cue points

That was my first issue i had with Serato was the lack of cue points.
Theres so much more than can be done live production wise when using Serato.
Me personally i think maybe putting the cue points into 'banks' of 5. The more banks the merrier ! 10 cue points is plenty, but i don't want to be limited. Having 20 cue points means, i can perform a different remix of the same track without having to lose or adjust any of the others.
I know an option is to make a copy of a track, but that isn't practical, because of hardrive space and the fact that i want the option with all my tracks.
Then make the bank select button mappable to MIDI and im away !
Speaking of MIDI, every feature, whether on the GUI or not, should be mappable !
I might try a program that can map midi to any key commands.

More Cue Points indeed.
Maybe incorperate Banks A-D ?
But it would be better if you didn't have to change banks. So that way I could map them all to my Trigger finger !

Would love to have 8 per deck, and they can fit that in the current GUI which is important i'm sure.

+100 to more cue points
+100 to labeling cue points
I also use cue points to mark points in the song like the breakdown, etc. - would be great to have points that can just be labeled, but are not necessarily cue points

I can't belive Serato still hasn't implemented this, would be *realy* nice to get a response from a Serato staff member to know i this will ever be implmented. I was about to buy a Rane mixer and Serato until I learned that it only had 5 cue points, I need a lot more than that for my live performances with trigger finger. I guess I'll just have to use Traktor instead, shame I almost switched. :/ This seems like a popular request, I saw some other posts in the serato forum like this one: serato.com

The option to have more cue point Goddamit, 5 is no where near enough and you have guys with 16 pad midi contollers, cue points are just like triggering samples so why even bother with a separate sample bank.
Get to it Serato.

I hadn't even thought of cues with labels. GOOD CALL!!! That would be awesome!!!

You're already able to label your cues... just click on the time next to the cue point (where it shows the time) and type in what you want... I use abbreviations and type the time next to the label I put in since typing in that space replaces the time with your label... if you ever want to make the label go away... just delete what you wrote and the time and hit enter and the time of the cue will be displayed like it was before.
+1 on more cues tho
Would love to have more per each side and have them set so your shortcut 1~5 is only associated with 5 of your choosing or you could use a "shift" type key so default is 1~5 and 6~10 would be the "shift" and original shortcut... example for left deck 1 could be cue one and with the shift also cue 6, 2 would be cue two and cue 7 etc... (obviously can't be shift but maybe function or something?? I'm sure you get my idea tho)...
(I use them as markers as well... or hell as was also suggested just label makers that don't operate as cues would be great. Not necessary but would be nice for sure!)

Now with the new XP2 Controller i wonder why it’s not possible to have 16 Cuepoints per Channel like in Rekordbox. After all the features RB copied from Serato it would be fair to nick that feature and implement it in a future update!

I would assume its not too far off.
