Hi dj-madmax,
Unfortunately that is a limitation of the Vestax Typhoon, the pitch range is +8 or -8.
Cheers :)

Serato Dj Intro and Vestax Typhoon are an entry level software/hardware package.
It often comes down to a product owners decision as to how simple/complex they wish for their product to operate.

I am sorry I could not give you any accurate information regarding when the pitch range options will be expanded.

Hi dj-madmax,
At this point the pitch range with the Vestax Typhoon will be remaining as is.

The pitch range will remain as +/- 8 for the Typhoon, the decision to increase the pitch range is not in my hands.

dj-madmax,
I dont thing that DJ INTRO will have the PITCH RANGE be change aside from +/-8. Like the name of the software said, its DJ INTRO.
It sounds like you already surpass the knowledge of being a beginner-level dj. Try another unit and use SERATO ITCH.

Hi dj-madmax,
Serato DJ Intro is a essentially an entry level DJ software with a smaller feature set to our other softwares.
I can't imagine this particular feature will change in the foreseeable future, but I can suggest that if this particular limitation does hinder your performance/experience, you could upgrade to one of our ITCH controllers which have a much larger pitch range available.

Hey dj-madmax,
I guess the reason why you would want to buy an ITCH controller is because it does sound like to me that having a wider pitch range is fairly important to you and your DJing experience.
As I have explained, Serato DJ Intro is an entry level DJ software which has a fairly limited feature set.

why? because you are looking for features you cannot find in SERATO DJ INTRO.
why do you DO NOT WANT TO BUY new controller for SERATO ITCH?

You don't need it. If you need to go more that 8% then those songs do not mix well together and it will sound bad. You need to learn some more mixing techniques.

Hey dj-madmax,
Not that you are the ONLY person asking for something like this, I will admit, there are a handful of people that would like a larger pitch range on their intro controllers.
But I do think you will find the majority of users are happy with +/-8 because it usually isn't necessary for entry level DJ software users. If you having a bigger range is essential to your DJing, I recommend looking into purchasing an ITCH controller.
Thanks :)

There isn't much more I can tell you dj-madmax, its just very unlikely to actually happen for Serato DJ Intro.
What I can do is set and close this thread as a "feature request" meaning that, if the Product Owners decide to add more functionality to Serato DJ Intro, they can browse these forums to see what is requested by many users. If enough people were asking for the tempo range to be opened up, then the chances of it happening may increase.

Let's talk about Typhoon then I that I have a VCI 400 and that some things are forced to use traktor. I think they were wrong to create the VCI 380 for itch had to be the opposite, of course issues of sale. I hope that serato create a program to maximize the potential of the VCI 400.
Martin C
8:14 PM - 1 October, 2012
Yes dj zaza, we do hope to eventually implement features like 4 deck controls for the VCI-400.
2.Um.@.X
12:58 AM - 3 October, 2012
I guess the feature will not happen. The pitch increase adjustment will not happen. If there would be request for the upcoming DJ INTRO would be an increase of effects.
2.Um.@.X
12:59 AM - 3 October, 2012
And if possible for the use of the 4-channel mixer on the Numark N4 and VCI-400.

When Serato DJ becomes available for the Vestax Typhoon, you will be able to access a larger pitch range.

Hey dj-madmax,
I can't say for certain what ranges will be available when it works for Serato DJ the project is completed, but I think its quite likely there will be more pitch range available than there was in Serato DJ intro.

You can use + or - on your computer to zoom in/out on the waveforms to make it appear faster.
2.Um.@.X
5:49 PM - 13 November, 2012
This feature does not work on SERATO DJ INTRO. I don't think they will apply this feature for the next DJ INTRO releases. Better wait for SERATO DJ, then all features from ITCH will be available for your unit.

The Vestax Typhoon will be supported soon for Serato DJ, so you will be able to use this feature and more with the upgrade :)

Why complain for $129 ? If you were the one who work 8hrs a day, 5 days a week.... would you like to work for FREE?

This cost keeps many teams of developers working hard to fix bugs/add new features/add controller support constantly. If we gave it away for free there is no way we could move forward with the software.

LOL.. I wandered into the wrong forum and found this thread semi-amusing.
Max, you get what you pay for in life and you paid for an entry level controller with entry level software and that is that. Instead of asking the Serato team to hand you the same features ITCH users spent significantly MORE for, Just go back to VDJ. There is a map file for VDJ and your controller that will put you right back at the wheel of your old program with your new controller. Problem solved.

Serato DJ Intro is free software that supports some of the more entry level/lower bracket controllers, and we don't plan on expanding the features in Serato DJ Intro.
If you wish have a "good update" I highly recommend purchasing a Serato DJ license when it supports the Vestax Typhoon.
