Hi unicomiko,

There are number of reasons why you could be experiences this issue.

- Are you using an external hard drive to access your music?
- Are you using a USB hub or any other USB devices?

Could you please let me know your computer specs a bit further, there are instructions on how to do so here; serato.com

Also could you please let me know what your USB buffer size is currently set to in the Setup screen of Serato DJ Intro?

i'm not using any external hard drive. im only using usb for mixtrack pro. i have an acer extensa 5420 running on a win7 32 bit. my processor is amd turion 64 x2 1.9 GHz, 2 GB of RAM, about 69 GB free space of 160 GB. i also tried to unchecked the usb power management, thinking that it was a usb port problem. but still no luck. when i play a track, at first it was good but in a minute or two the limiter lights up suddenly it become distorted and slow said to be a usb dropout. my settings in buffer size is 512. when i set it to 1020 the sounds not good but usb dropout had lessen a bit. i really like serato software quality into sounds. i hope that you can help me...thanks more power serato!

Hi unicomiko,

Unfortunately we do not support AMD processors, here is a FAQ outlining why this is: serato.com

I am more than happy to continue troubleshooting this issue with you, but I have to make you aware of that.

Try some of the suggestions listed in the above FAQ and additional to that, perhaps try a different USB cable if possible.

The next step would be to go through this PC optimization guide here: serato.com

Ensure you have made all the changes to your settings as described in this guide, to maximize performance of your computer when using Serato DJ Intro.

Once you have gone through all this and you are still experiencing issues, post back up and let me know and we can try a couple of other things :D

There are still a couple of things we can try to improve the situation.

Can you please try running a DPC trace report tool? There are instructions on how to so here: serato.com

Please attach the file to this thread so I can take a look at it, thanks :)

Hello!
- Do you did a test in other computer (Intel platform)?
- Do you change a USB cable to a new, like MonsterCable or similar? Some thinner USB cables cause droppouts and noises! Choose thicker cables with ferrite filters on both ends.
- Do you turn off (disable in hardware) wireless, bluetooth and others devices?
- Do you did a test with other DJ software (like VirtualDJ or Traktor) to check if it's a hardware or software problem?
* Set your Energy Profile to HIGH PERFORMANCE!!
Check questions above and post here your results.
Tks.

i tried virtual dj its just fine but i want something more clearer and more responsive like serato when scratching. i will try to run the test on dpc or maybe i'll have to buy another laptop with intel processor.

Yeah, definitely try running the DPC report tool. It may help us identify the issue you are experiencing.

If you are thinking about buying a new laptop I recommend reading this article on our website: serato.com

You have a couple of areas of concern in your report.

NDIS.sys (Network connections)

1) Go into your Control Panel
2) Open to Network Connections
3) Disable the Wireless Network Connection and any wired connections.

tcpip.sys (TCP/IP Protocol Driver)

* Try disabling the network card.

ACPI.sys (Power management)

If you have USB dropouts and are having trouble finding a cause on a seemingly powerful machine, check if your computer is ACPI by opening the device manager:

1. Go to control panel
2. Click system
3. Click the hardware tab
4. Click device manager
5. Click the [+] next to Computer
6. If you see "ACPI uniprocessor PC" or similar, you have ACPI.

Quick method for disabling ACPI power management on some laptops

Try taking your battery out and just run off the power supply, this stops ACPI from trying to manage the battery on some model laptops.

You can disable ACPI if you think it might still be a problem:

HOWEVER IT CAN BE HARD TO REVERSE THIS, AND YOU MAY HAVE IRQ CONFLICT ERRORS, SO DON'T DO THIS UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING AND CAN AFFORD SOME SYSTEM DOWN-TIME! AND MAKE A BACKUP!

BEFORE PROCEEDING Make a new system restore point by using the system restore wizard in help and support (start menu).

"If you right-click on the 'Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) PC' description and select the Properties option, and then the Driver page on the window that appears, you can select 'Update Driver'. Choose the second 'Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)' option on the subsequent page, and then the 'Don't search. I will choose the driver to install' option on the following page. This should come up with two options, namely ACPI PC and Standard PC."

Try shutting off your network connection before tackling the power management issue, you may find the problem is fixed when you have disabled all network connections.
