Friday I play at a club where their setup didn't required me to use CDs as controllers of my Scratch Live. I was really excited of using the CDJ 2000s via LINK mode together with the software, it worked beautifully. When I got home, I tried to do the same set up as they had but I couldn't. Is there any tutorial in how to set up the unit and the decks that I'm missing?

dont think there is a tutorial but it is pretty simple to do, hook up the cdj's and serato as normal BUT instead of using rcas to go from the cdj to the SL3, you now connect usb cables from the players to you computer. You need at least 3 usb ports on the laptop OR you can use a usb hub for the cdj's to connect into and then run it to you laptop. My laptop has 2 usb ports so one is for the SL3 and the other is for a 4 port usb hub where my players plug in. Once connected, open serato (download the latest version) and on the cdj's, hit link and connect to desired deck 1 or 2, also make sure Serato is in INT mode

CHeck the firmware version of the CDJs - minimum requirement is version 3.1

One question though, i come to realize that in this place, the only thing I hook to the SSL4 that they had there was my laptop...one USB (the one of SSL) and that was it... then how the CDJs are connected? I mean, are they connected to the mixer? Between them? my laptop didnt required 3 USBs

most likely they had the SL4 and the 2 cdj's in a usb hub, then 1 cable came out for you to hook up to your laptop. For hid to work, usb has to be used

Hey TAVO,

BriChi and Dan M have pretty much said it all here, its always best to have your Rane Interface connected directly a USB port on your computer, and you can use a Hub for the CDJs.

Make sure you software/firmware is up to date and you should be good to go.

Found a video of a guy running through all this which might be useful to you: youtu.be

Let me know if you have any further questions :)
