so what you are saying is...
if you have a video file on your hd that is say 125kb and you add it to serato library it show in the library as around 250kb?


i just looked at the size of files in my library and it's the opposite. on the hd they show as larger.

I had this happen to me a few months back on my edits a vid was like 100mo and once SLd they turned into 200mo.
I think it has to do with ur rendering settings which are off. Once i got on the right track thx to Puma n a few other homies it never happened again. Can u confirm it only happens on ur own edits? Ive never seen this on XTs SVs CCs etc...

125 kb is a prety small file..

glad i found this thread, just started doing a lot of edits and I noticed this also. files are around 90mb before but 190ish after i drop them in VSL, I'm keeping the settings constant with what I see in the details of the files before i edit them. any help would be great

If anyone else is noticing this, i tried a ton of different settings and even handbrake with the serato preset. The only thing that help is when I downgraded from 2.3.1 to 2.2 (also tried 2.1.1). Now my file sizes stay the same...anyone else notice this?

Hi Resq, what rendering settings are you referring to?
Like Nemix, I tried different progs to render my videos (mainly Vegas pro 10)
I always rendered wtih the same settings and never had any problems.
Untill now...

to nemix: I did not (will not) downgarde, so I can not confirm the version solution

Ok did some more testing.
Converted with other soft, problem remains.
Took some vevo files and just copied them without any conversion, SAME PROBLEM!
This rules out the rendering settings...
Anyone?

Puma is probably right it could be SL, I'm on 2.2. But when this happen i think it was back when i was on 2.1 (i think i'm not sure)
@breakie I was talking about the rendering settings in Vegas.

hey guys, do you experience playing files rendered in vegas having sound but no video.
plus can anyone confirm that downgrading to 2.1.1 will not double filesize after analyzing files.

We are working through this issue and development work has been done on the MP4 TAG LIB which should eliminate these issues. The update will be a maintainence release of Scratch Live and will be available very soon. Hang tight and we will let you know ASAP.

Its been a while.. How is everything going. This was resolved with the release of Sratch Live 2.3.3. Let me know if you have any further questions regarding Video-SL. If not I will close this thread.

I installed v 2.3.3 jsut a week ago, and did not yet use it with video sl so far.
I'll keep you posted.

2.3.3 fixes the file size double problem, I reported the issue months ago and ended up loosing about 900 files in the process...
