Hello!
I will give as much information as I could since I do troubleshooting at work so I know how important it is to get as much info as possible.
First of all, this is my current gear:
1x Pioneer DJM-800 (currently not connected to SL or computer in any way)
2x Pioneer CDJ-2000 (currently not connected to SL or computer in any way)
1x Serato Scratch Live SL 1 hardware currently connected to the computer with just the USB-cable.
Installed software:
Newest Scratch live (2.2.0) (22033)
Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
This is what I am trying to do:
Broadcast webcam + audio through internet (program tips or ways appreciated alot)
Problem:
The SL1 does not show up in the device manager in windows and therefore i cannot choose it to be the device used with www.ustream.tv
I have connected the SL1 to the computer and ran the updatedrivers in the serato program menu. It found the SL1 and said that the drivers were successfully installed.
The device does show up in the device manager but under Universal Serial Bus, with the name Rane SL 1.
I have read up on this some and it should be possible to use it for my purposes (or am I way out of the scope?)
I would very much appreciate a dummy guide (even on connecting the cables) on how to do this.
Thank you!

Hello Corniz,
First off you should turn off UAC:
Click on the Start menu.
Type in the letters UAC into the search field.
Click on the one thing that pops up.
Move the slider in the next window all the way down to 'never'.
Restart your computer.
Once done, you will need to open the 'device manager':
Click Start menu.
Right click on Computer and choose 'manage'.
Click on the 'device manager'.
Now locate the Serato usb device under the 'serial bus controllers', right click on it,
and choose to uninstall.
During the uninstall process make sure to check the option in the lower left corner of
the window that pops up that says "delete driver software'.
Once the driver is gone, unplug the SL1 into a different usb port on your computer and follow these directions:
1. Shut down any program you have open.
2. Click on the Start menu in the lower left corner of your desktop.
3. Click on All Programs.
4. Click on the Serato folder.
5. Click on the ScratchLIVE folder.
6. Double click the 'Update Driver' link.
Once updated try opening SSL.
If it still says 'hardware disconnected' try unplugging and replugging the SL1 into the same port.
If your still having issues you'll need to go back to the device manager and uninstall the driver using the directions above again.
Once done, unplug the SL1, plug it into another usb port, and follow the directions to install the driver via the 'update driver' link.
If it still doesn't work uninstall it and try it on another port.
You get the idea.
Hopefully you'll find one port that works.
I would also suggest unplugging ANY other usb devices prior to trying to install the SL1 driver.
Let us know how you get along:)

The computer is a freshly (format C:) installed windows 7 64-bit which never had any DJ-software installed on it.
UAC has always been off....
It feels like you answered a question about "why it does not show up in Scratch live" with a copy-paste answer.
My plan is to not use the software scratch live at all.
I want to be able to choose audio interface with the recording program. If possible ustream.com. (or in some other way record what i've done while broadcasting my webcam)
What I try to achieve is in my previous post.
Is an external soundcard an requirement? Or is the PC's soundcard enough?
Got it from this thread: serato.com

The answer I posted is a copy and paste answer geared towards getting Rane hardware to connect to a Windows 7 machine. Its an extremely common issue and those directions should work.
Reading back over the post it looks like the Rane hardware is connecting to SSL?
Know that you will only be able to use the SL1 as a sound card outside of SSL when using a program that supports ASIO.
The SL1 cannot be used as your Windows sound card was Windows does not use ASIO.
I'm not sure how useful this info is for what your trying to accomplish.
I am not familiar with how ustream works:(

Yes SSL reqognize the hardware.
So do I understand you right if I say:
#1 Unless my sound card supports ASIO, it does not work without an external sound card that does support ASIO?
What about ASIO4ALL software? www.asio4all.com
Any clue? :)
Any help is appreciated!

Your SL1 (sound card) does support ASIO but you need to be using a program that supports ASIO. What program are you needing to select an audio device for? ustream?
What sound devices do you see listed as your options in that software?

You can close this one since I went ahead and bought an external soundcard instead...
