These are rare now?? They came with my Serato instead of the standard blacks when I bought it back in '07! I never liked them cuz they were too thick (bought some blues that I use now). However after reading this thread, I've just ordered some replacement labels for them (old ones damaged and faded) and I'm gonna start using them and enjoying them. I've got better enough to not have hang ups about the thickness (no misquote) of the vinyl :)

I went off a one of the dudes one day. This young kid was looking for a mixer, and they were trying to sell him this piece of junk behringer, saying its just as good as a rane or pioneer.

The dude was FUMING when i told the customer he was being lied to. haha.

Farhan, even we don't like to pay rediculous money for gold records, it seems Maxxum_media is the one and only neverending source of gold Serato CV on ebay. Dub, Rob, me,... we all purchased records from them.
Hip Hope, note every image showing on ebay means you'll get exactly this. Gold Serato CVs coming in many different colourations. So you'll never know what you'll get til you open up the record sleeve...the one I got from Maxum_Media is more goldish/has a little bit of red in it, if you hold it in the light you can see it.
Bottom line, if you want gold Serato CVs that bad, pay the price on ebay or check every record store on the planet, maybe you'll find some somewhere, but this will be tuff, because they are out off print for years now.

^Gold Serato CVs come in all shades, from urine yellow, to gold, to orange, sometimes with some red streaks in them...they have the old label and the old cover with a round sticker on #em, saying: gold vinyl.

Ah. Gotcha. When I pictured gold I pictured like the gold ones that artist get when they reach certain sales quotas. They should make some of those and platinum ones too.

Which makes me think surely they have sold enough control vinyl to get gold or probably even platinum status. I mean it is a recording of sound. Wouldnt it be interesting if one day CVs held the title for the most sold recording ever?

A Serato CV won't get a gold or platinum status because there is no music on it, it's a control tone. But a Serato Special Pressing, could get one. But they are pressing not enough of those to reach gold or platinum status. But I'm always wondering, why record companies not gonna use a Serato Special Pressing as a marketing tool. Take a country with low sales of music records/CDs/downloads. Release a Serato Special Pressing in this country, try to hype it up, make some noise and sell everything on pre-order in 1 or 2 weeks. Baaaaam, you got a top position in the charts. At the same time you would have DJs that use Serato Scratch Live promoting your song, because the will buy the Serato Special Pressing no matter what music is on it but they might even play your song for a wider aucience in the clubs.

Wow ... check this out ... Was spinning as resident DJ at a club about a year ago, and owners was starting to get real greedy and shady when it was time to cash in at the end of the night.
