yea but the promoter will see yer name on loads of flyers and shit and if yer good, they'll notice

thats why i was torn... if a DJ does a gig for free how good can they be (i even charge family, depending on who they are and how much i like them) and that free DJ is has my name on his flyers.

But on the other hand, like you kris1 said... free publicity.

what is interesting though is every time promoters have came in (asking for my cards and stuff), they did it on nights that the hip hop group wasnt there...

I think you should say something and get your name taken of them flyers just in case this guy is giving you a bad name. Another way of looking at it is that if a promoter is looking for a dj for a gig and sees your name on a flyer he knows you are unavailable to work, but really you are sitting at home!

i gave the owner of the club a great deal too because i was going to be doing every wednesday, and it was a way slow night. i said if i had something constant i could turn is into something great.
