Are you using an external hard drive to store music? If so, disconnect the external HD and see of the problem persists. This will help narrow down the issue a bit :)

What is your processor size? Do you have any other programs running in the background? Im assuming you run Video SL correct? Are you using an external HD? When did this problem start?

I use an extra drive via FireWire 800 . I tried it without the drive and the CPU drop to 93% and 96% .

MacBook pro 2.6 core 2 duo processor 4 GB of RAM Mac OS 10.6.6

No other program running in the background un less Video SL Counts As one.
This started with the installation of 2.2 release. Also when editing tags in SL when I press the tab key it does not Tab it enters. And also when I'm done at the end of the show and I press exit then yes SL stops responding and I'm force to do a FORCE QUIT in order to close SL.

The reason I stopped using SL 2.0.0 was because it would crash (SL WOULD CLOSE IT SELF) during a live performance randomly while loading a random video. I'm now using 1.9.2 Everything works but wow I feel like I went back in time :(

Do you have Perian installed on your Mac?
dj Navics 8:11 PM - 4 March, 2011

You can find it here -->> perian.org

It's a recommended plug-in for Quicktime that helps decode files played by Video-SL.
dj Navics 8:55 PM - 4 March, 2011
Ok I will try it

After installing Perian, please try this:

Open SSL

Launch Video-SL

Under the middle preview window within the Video-SL panel, click Setup

To the right you should see three tabs (Output, Performance, and Control)

Within the Output tab, make sure the Quality setting is at Medium (having it set to Best can over-tax your system)

Go to the Performance tab and adjust the memory buffer to 2 GB

Retest

Any better?
