After decreasing the USB buffer size to 3 or 4, SSL froze on me. The gain level indicator for the record that was playing froze. Although i was still able to click buttons, and move around, there was no way for me to load a new track or get the record to start playing again. I had to force quit, and that didn't even work, so I ended up holding down the power button until the computer shut off. Now when I try to open up SSL I get a shaded screen telling me that I need to restart my computer.

Mac OS X version 10.3
I'm going to try reinstalling the program. Please let me know what went wrong though.

I reinstalled the program, updated to v1.1 again. No luck. Please help.

Hm, I dont own a mac, but have you tried to start SSL w/o the SSL box attached to your mac, so it wont take up too many ressources, then readjust your buffer settings?

That actually might help, if the USB is connected while the CPU is restarting it may have problems - this has happened to me, so now whenever I restart my CPU i make sure to remove the USB cable from the CPU. I also use a MAC G4 1.33 17" powerbook.

verge, did you get it sorted? If not, try temporarily moving the file com.serato.scratchlive.plist from your ~/Library/Preferences folder to the desktop and re-launching SSL.
if this works, just go through the setup stages again and all should be fine. If it does turn out to be the plist file causing trouble, post it up on the web somewhere so that we can take a look at it and see if anything is obviously wrong.
s
ps, if you're good with the command line, you could try running plutil on it

Ok, nik39, (you too White Lightning) thank you!! I started up SSL with no USB attached. When I plugged it back in, the buffer settings were back to the default 10. I just got it working again right now. If anything else goes wrong, I'll post up.
Thanks again,
