NA! it's not that big a deal to be honest, poeple don't really pay that much attention to the accent because london is such a multicultural and diverse city we've got everyone from everywhere if that makes sense.

It really depends more on how you acting. We get a lot of touristy Americans who rock up and expect to be treated like Royalty, but i've got tons of american friends who are just straight down the middle and fit right in.

hackney is ok, you just gotta be realistic about the dangers o living there, lived there for 3 years and never had a spot of trouble, went to crouch end and got kicked unconcious by 10 blokes for walking down the street with my wife. :(

I'm tablist as well by the way guys, although i do play everyting else as well.

I used to run Needlework the open decks night in Waterloo, DJ'd all over London as well, organised and ran the DMC team finals in 2003 and a whole host of tablist related things...including running this london based Tablist-centric based record label - www.needleworkrecords.com

i play just about everything i can get my hands on, im not an especially great dj, but i love music.. and i dj as an extension of that.

i dont do club nights, but this is because i dont want to do club nights. i dont want to dj for a living, im a programmer by trade, and im happy as that.

i do private parties very rarely, on my terms, for a specific crowd of people who i know i can cater to, and these jams are more hype than any club night iv ever been to...

i also help run a vw show up here, one of the best vw watercooled shows in the country.. which is nice.

I have to say I don't like Yodas mixtapes, think they are really unpolished and rough aroudn the edges. Some of the blends on the 80's mixtape make my ears hurt out of key, out fo time i wondered whetehr he'd actually listened to it.

I also think it's a little bit wrong that he's made his name ripping spinbads 80's mixtapes off...

The guardian used to wank themselves silly over him, when everyone who knew about ti knew he was basically just regurgatating psinbads "rock the casbah"

nice one, ive been an e38 member for a few years and i remember reading a few of your music posts on the board and thinking "this guys not got the usual rubbish uk music taste"

will need to try to get down to some of the meets this year, been without the mk2 for almost 2 months for the 1st time in 4 years.

Personally I find Yodas mixes totally unlistenable but he is extremely asute at marketing himself. He's probably booked to play at Student Unions up and down the country for the next 10 years.

i play hip hop n rnb mostly in clubs in edinburgh but for my own enjoyment i play techno and am starting my own night very soon @ club ego in edinburgh if all goes to plan wer trying to book simien moblie disco or booka shade for the 10 of june :) to head line and once a month after that decent headliners each month like slam i hope to get carl cox or sven vath if the nights go well but would need a 2000 capascity club for them to make a decent profit.
