In the past two weeks I noticed that I'm having some weird issues with the Serato history function. When I go into history, the last entry is from 10/29.
I did an event on 10/30 that went all night, and the next day I checked my history to see what I played, but nothing was there. I ended the session, started a new one, and said "oh well".
Days later, I played some tunes, and checked out the history, and found that the last entry was still on 10/29. I looked in the history/sessions folder, and i see newer files there, but they aren't showing up in serato.
If I play new tunes, they are being added to a current session playlist. But once I close serato and re-open it, i don't see those tunes, only the 10/29 (and before).
Anybody run into this or have a fix suggestion? It's not major, but I like being able to reference the history.
One last thing - in my history, even when i remove all checked fields, I still have 'period', 'added', '#' and 'name' as fields. I can't figure out why all of those still show, or if those are the defaults...

Hey cutups,
You may have a corrupt History folder. Can you please close Scratch Live and go to My Music > Serato and rename the History folder to OLDHistory. Now when you open Scratch Live and play a few tracks (to make a new session), when you close and re-open Scratch Live is that session there?
Let me know :)

i have an similar issue where all my old history has disappeared, including a list of a session played out on 11/11/2010 that i need. when i go into the history folders, i see a session file that was created on 11/11/2010 but it no longer appears in my history list in serato. it did for a week after the gig, but disappeared all of a sudden.

Hey Seiks,
Can you try this for me :
- Close Scratch Live
- Go to Music > _Serato_ and rename the History folder to OLDHistory
- Open Scratch Live and play some songs so a History session is made.
- When you close and re-open Scratch Live is that session still there?
If it is then go into your OLDHistory folder and copy over the 11/11/2010 session file you need to your new History folder, open Scratch Live and see if it shows up in your history tab.
Any luck? :)

logan, took your steps and the history did not show for 11/11/2010 after copying over the session file. should i be moving over the "history.database" file from oldhistory to the new history folder aswell?

Let me just double check you have everything as it needs to be :
Currently you have :
- an OLDHistory folder and a History folder in your My Music folder (Music folder for Mac).
- In the History folder you have the 11/11/2010 session file, correct?
Make sure you haven't changed the name of the session file and make sure the new History folder is spelled correctly and in the right place.
-When you play music now, does a history session get saved in the new History folder? Are these new history sessions being saved when you re-open Scratch Live?
If you have done everything correctly and still can't get Scratch Live to read this 11/11/2010 session file then can you please upload this file to the thread for me to take a look at :)

Okay so I get the same result as you with this session file - it looks like it might be a corrupt file which is why it is not being read. I will get one of our developers to take a look and see if they can shed a little more light on this. I will let you know if we find anything.

Hey Seiks,
We can't seem to find exactly what has corrupted the file but that does seem to have been the problem. Have you backed up Scratch Live at any time after this session date? If so, you should have a ScratchLiveBackup folder in your Music folder. Open this and go into History > Sessions and locate this History Session file. If you place this in your Scratch Live > History > Sessions folder and then open Scratch Live does it show up?
If that does not work unfortunately I don't think we are going to be able to recover this history session :(
