I was there. They shut it down around 11:50 after the opener started his set.

Lights turned on and music stopped, all of us thought it was a prank at first so we stayed for a few minutes to see what people would do. The curtains started to close and people were chucking beers and shit at the stage, at this point the opener came back out to grab his CDJ's and it inspired everybody to chuck more shit AT him. Firefighters started coming so we left to go outside the building.

Once we got outside, it was pretty much everything you saw in the video above, some fights broke out but nothing big. I'll upload a video off of my iphone later. I really hope Avalon refunds us.

you can bring your admission ticket to the box office and get a ticket to any future show as a "refund". I know the booking person for Giant. She posted this on her FB page.

Why Giant? Giant is very professional IMO. I played at Avalon before and everyone was very professional to me. As a matter of fact, I never dealt with more professional promoters in my whole dj career.

dave dean is a really cool dude, i've hung out with him quite a few times. when i lived in SD, giant was the only group bringing anybody worthwhile to town.

I think I'm just bitter that 4-5 years ago the Giant NYE party was canceled last minute because of poor planning and was shut down by the fire marshall. To their credit I did get a refund.
