Serato Software Feature Suggestions

What features would you like to see in Serato software?

Setting markers even when interface is not connected?

it would be great to have the possibility to prepare markers and coloured labels for every track we wanted without being connected to SSL interface.

you know, a laptop is a portable device... is quite annoying to be forced to connect SSL interface every time i want to prepare my tracks.

this is a feature related to mass analyze. that is, i think we need the possibility to prepare our tracks without being connected to SSL interface; both analyzing wave form and settings markers or coloured labels.

what do you think about this?

... please forgive my horrible english... 0:)

Yeah - I'd really like the ability to do basic stuff without the interface connected. Such as previewing tracks, doing the analysis, setting markers etc. Nice idea :)

I second that . Why does the interface need to be connected for this anyway?

How do you want to set the markers w/o listening the track and thus knowing where to put the marker?

I wouldn't. I'd listen to the track on headphones and then set the markers.

good point nik39. but lets see Final Crash: you can prelisten tracks using your laptop soundcard on FC.

of course, you cant set markers on FC, but it would be great if Serato designs some way to prepare our tracks without being connected to SSL interface.

... for example, Serato could develope another different program similar to and mp3 player but aimed to this subject, and compatible with SSL (like itunes is). then, you could prepare markers with this software and import this information to SSL.

what do you think about this?

You would start an external mp3 player and then remind the time where you want to set the marker, switch to SSL and then set the marker there? ;)

SSL has no prelisten feature, with it it would make sense set the markers "offline" else not.

no, i was talking about a SSL compatible program(or even SSL itself) that allows you to listen your tracks and set markers (and prepare playlist too, why not?)

then, you could just import this information... or something else.

i know, this idea sounds weird... :P

Ah, my bad. I don't have SSL yet. There should either be a prelisten function and offline 'track preparation' or SSL should copy everything (playlists, tags, etc.) straight from iTunes. The 'start time' feature in iTunes could then be copied as the first marker. I could then do ALL my preparation and organizing in iTunes.... Whisful thinking.

heh, your wish has been granted, SSL reads your iTunes library and all the playlists are imported automatically ^_^

Oh, word? I should quit asking stuff and RTFM. Or better yet, let me get my credit card. It's 1.30AM here. Don't you just love online shopping?

Dude, it's so addictive. eBay especially has been well visited at my house lately, and I bet my credit card company is over the moon.
