Serato Itch does not allow me to update my firmware?? It does it automatacilly then stops. Last night it took over three hours and never finished???

My Itch program keeps trying to update firmware on its own! even when the computer is not online it ask to update firmware and crashes my set during performances. This is very frustrating because i have owned my v7s since they came out and used them only in two gigs and both times they crashed. I have done everything on preparing for your gig and nothing. now lately i have to upgrade my firmware almost every week and even when im not on the internet is says update failed and stops my djing. Please create a fix for this and make firmware updates like your actual program updates where you have to do them manually

Hey DjMarioV,
Could you please let me know your computer specifications? Also could you let me know what firmware version it says you are running in the ITCH setup screen? Could you also let me know the build number of the software version you are using? You can find this in the bottom left hand corner of the setup screen.

Mac Book 2.4 GHz with 2GB ram running Mac OSX 10.6.5. Running Itch 1.7.1 (17105). I cant find a place where it says the firmware version??. Again it said the Firmware update was successful then when i restart my laptop in a future gig and have the wireless turned off it still says there was an error updating firmware. is there a way to manually update my firmware? Also can you please for future features add a disable auto-update on the firmware??

It should tell you the firmware version in the setup screen in the hardware tab. Could you let me know which version this is? There shouldn't be an auto-update for firmware. Could you take a screenshot of this message please?

all it says is firmware up to date. ever since Ive downloaded Itch it automatically tries to update the firmware? Ive been using itch since April

Are you able to take a screenshot of this happening please? You can do this by pressing command + shift + 3. This will be saved to the desktop. Please upload this to the thread via the "attach a file" button above the area where you type posts.

To get the details sbangs and Samuel are talking about, Search in Spotlight (Apple button + Space Bar) for Numark or V7.
This should reveal the utility that will display the information required for troubleshooting.
Also, @Serato Support Staff:
Are you hiring? I think you guys need an experienced help desk technician working with you since the majority of responses I see are just generic, canned responses.

Still having an issue with my numark V7 automatically trying to update the firmware during performances. Just completed a firmware update to 1.0.2(k3) Can some one please let me know how to update my firmware to the latest version manually. When I go in Itch it says firmware up to date and after about djing for twenty minutes i get a error screen that says firmware failed to update. This is really pissing me off and had no response in how to fix this issue or be able to turn off auto up date of the firmware. Thanks for the very expensive paper wieghts cause these are use less

Used the Itch Program you sent me and still tried to auto update the firmware. I loaded a new song to the left deck then it gargled the sound and said error#4 and was not able to update the firmware.

Have you been in touch with Numark regarding this? We have been talking to the development team regarding this issue, but unfortunately there is no new information to give you yet.

Tried Itch 1.5 and still no luck common its been over a year and I have yet to use these in a gig. 1600 dollars i have yet to make back because Serato Itch.

DJ Mario V, I read your discussion. I am having the same problem with my NS7. After about 45min the system crashes a gray screen which shows an error message. I actually lose control of the NS7 and have to reboot the whole system!! I sent the unit back to Numark, they said they ran a complete diagnostic test. I just got it back last week and the same thing happened! I've tried Itch 1.7 & 1.5.... Same thing happened!! I'm about to throw the whole $1500 dollar system in the garbage.... Extremely fustrating, your not the only one out there if that makes you feel any better. Please let me know if you ever solve this issue!!!

Is your error message regarding updating the firmware? Yeah my motors keep spinning to and i loose all function. I don't believe its a hardware issue because when I use The V7s with Virtual Dj it never looses function because Virtual Dj does not have a protocol to auto update the firmware. Numark and Serato need to work together to disable auto update firmware all together and make it manual. As A dj I believe the Up-Date firmware should not be automatically and should even probably be on the V7 control panel only not in the Serato Itch Program. Another way to fix it for them to give us a way to update the firmware manually outside the itch program so that when Serato sees it has the latest firmware and does not try to auto update which is causing my issues. Very simple fix if you ask me they just gotta work on it. Rule #1 for any Dj software company should be performance then why would you integrate a auto-update firmware feature that has the opportunity to occur and does happen during a set.

AGREED! 1000%! yea I'm having the same issue... Update firmware error after about 45min.... I'm running a MAC now but gonna try it tonight on my friends MAC. If your theory is right I'm thinking the same thing will happen?? We shall see, I'll let you know.

This issue is being investigated currently by the development team. I couldn't say when a fix will come but we are trying hard to get to the bottom of it and get it sorted out. Thanks for being patient, at the moment we think that it could be a wrong signal that the hardware is sending that we are interpreting wrong or some combination of this happening. Unfortunately we have only been able to reproduce this a couple of times in house so its tough to see whats going on. Hopefully we will have more answers for you soon though.

Just a quick update on this. We have figured out what is going wrong and it will require work from both us and Numark to resolve it. I can't give any kind of timeframe as to when this could happen but hopefully it shouldn't be too long.
Good news is that we know what it is now and can move forward :)

Good luck and its not really patiently waiting if its more than year its called devoted and hopeful. I love the V7s just hate the program Itch because it crashes but other than that the feel and scratching on those things is amazzzazzzing!!! I cant wait to use them in a actual gig. In future versions I hope you guys decide to make the firmware update on the numark control panel only to save you all the trouble.

Sorry for the lack of update. We have been working on resolving this issue since we recognized it and we have hopefully fixed the problem on our side for the next release. Unfortunately I can't say when this will be available. This problem is also on the Numark end though and will also require some work from them to completely resolve it.
I can say that we are working on this and have not just been sitting on this issue. I can understand it is frustrating but we are definitely trying to get this sorted out for an upcoming release!

Hope it happens soon, I original bought the V7s because Numark said they would be compatible with Traktor. With No Traktor Support yet and Serato being in the Beta Phase I have to use my 1200s and Traktor dj. I really enjoy the feel of the V7s and layout. The Cue Points loops, and browser button make it so I never have to touch my laptop. I just cant wait till they actually work with which every program Itch or Traktor as long as they just work.

The beta process has changed this time around so there is no invite beta for this release that I can add you guys to. Unfortunately I can't give you a date for public beta but it is very close!

its weird, i was preparing my self for the worst when i was going to update the firmware on my ns6, i actually waited it off for a few weeks untill i knew the weekend wasnt as busy with many bookings so i clicked the update firmware button and after a few minutes, boom everything finished and continued to work fine
