Hey Boys
I'm working for a the larges dicko change in Denmark - We got 52 places all around in DK at this time.
We just got Serato in 22 places right at the time.
So now we work on a music solution for our pubs and bars. Right at this time we got a "MIB" music controller, wish is a pc connectet to a server getting all the newes music online. This cost a shit load of money every month !!!!!
So now we work on a solution whit ITCH ! - We got a Denon DJ DN-HC5000 connectet to a pc !
This is a very good solution for our clubs, pubs and bars because we alredy got the music from Serato.
BUT ! - What we need is a SHUFFLE MODE for ITCH, so when we got no dj in the house the first hours they just can turn on the system and it will play in a shuffle mode picking random songs from the crates !!
Is the a way of doing this ????!!!!!
If yes, let me know so we can go on whit this system for all disko, pubs and bars.....

Hi Toffi_Jay.
There is a continuous mode, which will play the next song in a crate automatically.
This means you could create some 'early night' crates / playlists and the machine will just keep playing the songs until the DJ starts.
We don't have a random function, but I'd assume a more targeted early night playlist would be better than something random that may bust out full on hard dance right in after a lounge track? Let me know if that would work for you, or if you would prefer a random function still. Cheers.

I agree Toffi_Jay, a suffle mode in a crate/playlist would be ideal. The problem with continuous mode is a crate with many songs from one artist are played in a row, and hearing back to back songs from the same artist is not preferred.

True, but all you have to do is make a specific crate that has songs organized in a way so as not to have more then one song by one artist in a row. By making a crate you have total control over what songs are played in what order. Simply drag songs around to re-organize their order.
On that note, Matt-C, will we ever see the ability for ITCH to detect the end and beginning of songs so it can immediately start playing the next song? As it stands you need to edit the begging and end of songs so there is no space otherwise you get a lag. My old Numark CDN88 had this ability to go back and forth between two discs so it must not be too difficult to manage, right?
Also, will we ever see a cross fade function like on Itunes has when playing music? Both these features would help Toffi Jay, DJMannos, and other DJ's such as myself, when we are just playing filler music in the early hours. If we could hit continuous play and it would crossfade at a setting we can choose that would be awesome. This would help with cocktail & dinner hours at events or the early hours at a bar. Obviously when things start ramping up we could jump on the decks, but it would be nice to have it all in one program.
Thanks for listening,

For the HC5000 we offer Relay mode:
Pressing RELAY on the DN-HC5000 will put ITCH into relay mode, which is an extension of the continuous playback behavior. When relay mode is on the playback mode in the ITCH screen will change to display relay for both decks.
In relay mode when the track on the first deck is nearing the end it will start to fade out and the next track in the crate, playlist or selection will start playing on the other deck. ITCH will continue fading back and forth between tracks until relay mode is switched off or the end of the crate, playlist or selection is reached.
NOTE: The crossfader on your mixer must be set to the middle position for relay mode to work properly so that both tracks are audible. Press SHIFT + RELAY to change the length of the crossfade between 0, 5 and 10 seconds.

Wow, that's great, but it sounds like it's only on the HC5000. Does anything like that exist on the VCI-300 or DX?

No - this feature was mainly aimed at the more mobile djs that would use the HC-5000.
However, it is a cool feature that would be good to port across all ITCH controllers. It's in the feature backlog though :D

+1...Nice to hear.
I'm a mobile entertainer and the NS7 is my weapon of choice. I know a lot of NS7 and VCI-300 users are mobile entertainers as well and would appreciate this function in our controllers too for the cocktail/dinner stage of the events.
Please enable this on the NS7/VCI-300 as soon as possible. It's a pain to have to use two programs and manage two databases/crates for each event ( VDJ/Itunes for cocktail & ITCH for dancing ).
