This feature is currently not available, but I hope a Smurf theme is possible in the future ;)
Revolutionary 10:16 PM - 22 March, 2005
No, you can not customize the GUI (yet)...

Why is it important to look professional? Personally, I feel that the GUI looks very professional compared to other similiar products. It's not like you're going to show your crowd it, is it?

i think the interface looks very proffesional. i can look at the screen and in a second know how much is left on the current track, whats coming up next and so on. if it's not broken don't fix it.
nobspangle 4:11 PM - 23 March, 2005
I've only ever seen one skin that was better than the official interface and that is the kxaudio drivers, but I think anything would be better than the official skin for that.

I don't care if the interface looks like my mum knocked it together on paint, if it's well laid out and clear (which it is) that's what's important.
Revolutionary 4:51 PM - 23 March, 2005
It's functional...

Don't get me wrong, SSL is a great thing but I paid here in Germany almost 750 EUROs (about 900 USD) for it and I think I should have the right to change the view the way I want it to look. With my Homepage URL on top of it and other eyefriendlier colors! For that much money it should not be my job to promote SSL, as good as it is, but i think you understand what I am saying. :-) I have sooo many nice Wallpapers and Pictures I would like to have on top of SSL. And if somebody steps to me asking for the fantastic software I am using, you can be sure I won't say that it is called FINAL SCRATCH! :-))) LOL

No offense, man, but people like you make me sick, Gaz. Literally. This is probably as stereotypical as what Gaz is saying, but generally speaking, most men are jerks in my opinion.
Revolutionary 6:55 PM - 27 June, 2005
Jokey way? What are you talking about, man? When you say no offense, doesn't that kind of express that you're being serious?

You should learn to keep your mouth shout, and lay off things that aren't your business, such as people's sexuality.

i think about stuff like this all the time. my boss is always starting sentences off with, "let me be honest with you..." or "to tell you the truth..."

beginning a conversation that way makes you think that he is liar every other time you talk to him.

that being said gaz- you should be "man" enough to deal with rev's asexuality in a mature way. (hard to believe that rev is the teenager in this argument)
gazmonster 8:31 PM - 27 June, 2005
ill tell you a story...

the other day my mate was telling me about when he first came out to his mum. he said initially she was fiercely against anyone being homophobic and was the first one to say anything if she thought someone was being derogatory. despite this however he didnt feel comfortable about the wayu she was dealing with it. it just seemed forced. then the other day his brother was telling him how his mum was reading an article about "faggott tossing" and for those who dont know what a faggott is its a round ball of meat. obvioulsy it was some logal village contest. anyway...she then turned round after reading this and said "faggott tossing, your brother betta watch out" my mate upon hearing thissmiled and said how happy he was that his mum was now relaxed about his sexuality.

rev i am not homophobic. but that aside im sorry if i offended you. it was only meant to be a bit of gip.
Revolutionary 9:23 PM - 27 June, 2005
It's not about that, man. It's about your entire attitude towards women. Sadly, you aren't the only one. That's why I said I hate men in general...I get really mad when I hear guys comment on a girl's look like she was some kind of a car or whatever. Almost hit a guy actually. If you have that kind of sexist thoughts, keep them to yourselves. Of course, that doesn't mean there's anything wrong in women or men for that matter using makeup or dressing up pretty.

It depends on what you say, and how you say it, man. Comments like that can hurt real bad, even if it doesn't show. Think before you speak. Using violence and stuff like that aren't the only things that are bad...You see what I'm getting at?
There are actually a lot of guys bragging about watching pornography. That's just disgusting.

Yeah, like he's hot ;) Just kidding...
I think you ain't getting my point here, son ;) It's the entire body fixation that's wrong. Whether that fixation is on a man or a woman, makes no difference in my opinion. However, this kind of fixation is far more common amongst men than it is amongst women . That kind of attitude scares me. If most men think it's okay to have that sort of view, I guess it's okay then...
If you feel otherwise about things like this, then you gotta be gay or some sort right-wing Christian. I actually think a lot of straight guys don't really have the same opinions as our friends above this post, but they're afraid to express it...

Rev - ever been divorced? Taken to court by a WOMAN? You'd change your tune so fast as that one you loved rips your heart, your friends, your house and your hard earned cash out from under you. Hell, that bitch might even jack your music collection just in spite. bye-bye Serato, music funds.. think about that just for a minute.

Wake up!!!! Women are here to be looked at -- even gawked at (porn isn't bad, it's a safe and cheap way to get off) -- and if you think treating them nice and getting involved, one move out of their scope and they will turn things into pure business in a blink of an eye. Being on their team will NOT get you a star on your chest.

Perhaps you should "Think before you speak." This is no time to start a brigade for chics. We've given them enough slack, and continue to. Like it or not, some of us do really enjoy the ability to write our names in snow and leaving the seat up.

Also I'd like to state for the record, I'm not a chic hater, but I will say that I do keep a watchfull eye out everyday. 50+ grand and a year and half of my life slipped away to the court system. When your paying a new found best friend, a.k.a. 'lawyer' $400 an hour, you realize just how shitty the world can be, especially dealing with the scorn of a woman. Let me add to that, one that I loved, trusted and would have given the world to, but she couldn't overcome some shortcomings of her own.

Rev, get a grip. Let boys be boys. Let Men be boys too. It's about the only thing that we haven't lost to the courts yet.

Revolutionary 6:33 PM - 28 June, 2005
Heh heh, I'll have to wait another year before I even can consider getting married, so it's a little early for divorce and stuff like that.

If you think I have these opinions because I want "a star on my chest", then you got it pretty wrong, man. That would just be freaking psycho in my honest opinion. I can imagine a lot of guys using that sort of tactic to get closer to girls though. And if I were one of them or should I rather say you, why would I spend my time expressing these opinions on this highly male-concentrated board? Aren't there like 2 women on this board?

People have bad experiences all the time, but that doesn't give them the right to be judgemental.

The world is a horrible place. Face it, but that doesn't mean you can't change things..

I would like to end this discussion by saying that we are all entitled to have different opinions and share them with others, as long as they don't offend anyone or basically are disgusting, such as some of the ones expressed by forum users above. Long live freedom of speech.
gazmonster 6:33 PM - 28 June, 2005

Detroitbootybass 6:47 PM - 28 June, 2005
I totally agree with Rev... the issue is you pigs objectifying women. Women are NOT here to be gawked at or treated like like cheats, as KaGen states. That type of chauvanistic and turn-of-the-century attitude is nothing short of neanderthal and undermines the hard work of honest men and women to even the playing field for the sexes.
Revolutionary 7:02 PM - 28 June, 2005

I completely agree with this. There's free software that is customizable with regards to display options, so for a program that costs no less than $400 for it to function NOT to have customization options is a bit ridiculous if you ask me.
str8nger 3:01 AM - 20 July, 2011
skins? for what??
DJ EXQ 3:53 AM - 20 July, 2011
A couple of things:

A. Better viewing options for differently lit situations (i.e. outside in the sun, as opposed to a dark night club setting) ::: I can't even begin to think of all the times either myself, or a close friend have had viewing issues with Serato, because of the darker colors that are used in the GUI.

B. Higher customization ability for item placement & size ::: This isn't a particularly "necessary" change, but it would be considerably nicer to have the option to change the location and size of the waveform window, without being limited to the few options for it now. I'm not 100% sure that I would change the size, but the placement is one thing I would definitely change with it.

That said, I absolutely love Serato Scratch Live, and continuously insist on using my Serato & 1200's EVERYWHERE I play.

--Cheers--

How about a skin pack...urban graffiti scene for a hip hop gig, festival crowds and mega trons for EDM, bell bottoms and Disco ball for old school and flowers, cakes and doves (all pastel) for weddings. Is that professional enough?
