Downloaded 2.1 last week used and noticed dropouts on the pc. I'm running a Dell with Windows XP service pack 3 Intel Pentium Processor 1700MHz 598 MHz 2.00 GB of Ram. I've optimize the laptop as instructed in the serato manual, still the dropouts persist.

Hello RonSupreme,

Have you tried increasing the usb audio buffer?
Also, turn of the hifi resampler in the Playback tab and auto fill overviews in the Library tab.
There is a bug in 2.1 that is making SSL write tags for played files.
This makes your computer have to work harder.
Computer may be getting taxed due to this bug so therefor your seeing poor performance.

Try those adjustments. If that doesn't work then I would revert back to 2.0 until Serato can fix the bug.

i've had the same issue too. I'm also on a pc, windows 7 ultimate, 3gb ram.

So when is the bug gonna be fixed?? the tag writting for play files blows!

Its fixed in the next version which should be out for regular release very soon.
