Playing a song in the right deck of SL. I hit the space bar (which is a habit from older versions) to clear our the search box. The view switches and the faintly in the background classical music plays under the song. Within 30 secs the volume increase on both sides. When I stop the track the music continue from both the right and left decks. Only way to stop it is to close SL. This is the second time this has happened. Any thoughts?

hey Frank .. could possibly be that you have a track playing in one of the sample decks .. check the sampler section to see .. the space bar may trigger the sample to play ..

cheers

I will give that a try. I don't use the sample decks, but maybe I enabled it inadvertently. are there generic sample tracks preloaded in the sample decks?

Hi FrankC,

In 2.0, if you press spacebar when not in a search box this will switch between your current deck display mode and library mode. This shouldn't make any music play :-/

Are you hearing this music through your mixer or from the speakers on your computer?

Music is coming out of both the right and left decks though the mixer. Not in the computer speakers

Very odd. If you open the SP-6 sample player panel do you have anything loaded to the sample slots (please check all banks, A through D)? When this happens, if you stop both decks does this other music stop too? If not, what happens if you eject both the virtual decks?

Up until now I have not used the sampler or even known how to pull it up on the screen. (I attempted to today, but did not realize that the hardware needs to be attached.) I did check and see that the SP-6 was enabled. I am using the SL1 box so I only have right and left deck. When I stop both decks (Relative Mode) the music continues, it also continues when I eject the tracks loaded into the virtual decks.

Do you live near a classical radio station? It might be interference. Make sure your USB cable has a ferrite core on it so it doesn't act like a radio antenna.

Hey FrankC,

JoshuaBula's suggestion is a possible cause. Do you have the Thru outputs from the SL 1 connected to your mixer also?
FrankC 4:08 AM - 23 June, 2010
I do have the Thru outputs connected. Its happened at two different locations thou about 25 miles apart. I use the USB cable that came with the SL1 when I got it back in 2006.

confirmation that it was the sp-6 player. I apparently in messing with it originally loaded a track. it was playing the entire track.... Thanks for the assistance.

Hey FrankC,

Glad to hear that you figured out what the problem was :)
