I have a Window Vista and it sometimes lags, when I load music. What windows do yall use? And any ideas of how to make my laptop more dj like?

Oh, I have 64-Bits. Im not sure I think its just my computer, its just loads up slowly some times.

windows xp 32 bit, non networked with virtually all services turned off

If your machine can support Windows XP (that is, if proper XP drivers are available for all the components), that will always run better/more efficiently than either Vista or Windows 7.

Hold up I am probably the dummest kid on this website!
I HAVE WINDOWS 7, I have no idea where Window Vista came.
But I have Window Xp from my old computer, are you saying that Window XP is better for Dj'ing than Window 7

its better for serato at the moment.
it may get better for windows 7 eventually but for now its better to use XP

You need to right click on the folder your have music on
Where it says Optimize this library for:
Select Documents
That will have you folder load like XP.
If you are using whitelabel.net files, they will still move/copy slower than regular files..

There's a lot less "OS overhead" going on with XP. Windows 7 is definitely an improvement over Vista, but it's still slower than XP when compared on the same hardware.
Honestly, if I just wanted a laptop for Scratch Live only (no video) that was never going to touch the internet in any way, I'd be perfectly happy using Windows XP on decent hardware.

Haha, yeah ive been told macs are amazing, ill guess I have get use to window 07 and wait for an update or something.
