You most certainly dont! lol

I have a few Irish Hip-Hop tracks that I will be playing mixed in with some Irish Rebel songs, I will be closing with Ri Ra-25 O Clock In The Morning...great track...then it's on to the Guinness and a bit of fighting LMAO
Psyphris 4:41 PM - 11 March, 2010
The dubliners, dropkick muprhey, flogging molly, street dogs, the tossers, enter the haggis, the pogues, shane macgowan and the popes.

Who am I missing?
Psyphris 4:43 PM - 11 March, 2010
And this really depends on the place you're playing. If it's a club then it won't work, but if you're playing a bar I'd end with Seven Drunken Nights. Every drunk person loves singing that song.

I love Paddy Reilly. His version of Luke Kelly's Peggy Gordon is one of my favourite songs of all time.

I'll throw a track list together for you but you have to give me 1/2 of your pay because I'm doing 1/2 of your job for you.

Seriously though, why are you DJing an Irish party if you have no Irish music :-/

I told the manager that I had no irish music and did not want to dj that day (It's my b-day) and he still asked me to do it. He was like "just get whatever says best Irish tunes from itunes" LOL
I play at that bar 2-3 saturdays a month. Rock and top 40 music. I guess he thinks they might not ask for a lot of irish music since they'll be drunk as fawk by 3-4 pm. Parade starts at 10 am .

So there have been some good suggestions for artists so far in this thread. If you really don't have time then just go to itunes (or any other comparable site with a rating system) and type in the artist name. Then listen to the songs that have a high rating and see if you can incorporate that into your set. Most people don't have a large selection of Celtic music and only recognize a handful of songs. If you do it this way then you'll have a better chance of them recognizing the music and thus enjoying it more.

I mean, seriously.. "Dreaming my Dreams"? That's a snoozer. If you want Cranberries go with "Salvation" or "Zombie". Something a bit more upbeat.

^^ everything worked fine for me. Nobody requested any Irish music. I played rock in the beginning, then switched to pop and added a little bit pf house at the peak hour. I worked from 2 pm-8pm. Had a good time watching a lot of drunk busting their asses off with the ugliest falls i've seen. One got on top of the beer pong table and that shit broke. Funniest shit ever
