Ha.. ok ok dont get mad right away. Just read my real first name Ramon. So im mexican. Ok here is the fast story about last night. did a party for a lil boys 1st birthday easy money in my head right.. Wrong. they are so damn picky is sick. i had the people on the dance floor it was packed. and this old man was like play salsa music.NOW. i told him no because he was not the one paying me and the person that hired me wanted english music for the rest of the night. plus before i played english i played about 6 hours of spainsh.. ha. i love mp3... so he pulls our a 20 doller bill and leaves it on the mixer. i see it give it right back to him no one pays me off. i was mad and so was he. i look over from time to time and he is giving me the finger funny shit. so i see the old man getting ready to leave and i play his song. what does he do runs over to me and says he is sorry for being an dick and leaves.. did not even dance.. what a jerk.. ha.. i will never do a party for mexicans.. inless its my family..

Doesnt sound like it has anything to do with the fact that they're mexican, i think it was just that individual who thought he could control you with money!

sucks, always some b*tchy people at parties who think they run it and the song they want is the poppin' one and everyone loves.

not mexican myself, but even if i was... don't think that reasoning is 'ok' to make fun of one's race. though i'm guilty of it myself :-p

That incident has nothing to do with the fact that they're Mexicans. Are you sure he was Mexican? Did you asked him if he was? He could've been Salvadorean, Guatemalan, or just about any other latin american nationality.

That happens to me all the time. Heck, I even made a thread about it the other day.

Sorry djdannyc i dont need 20 bucks that bad. i make great money in my day job. i just dj because i love to do it. the extra money is cool. but its not a must to pay bills.. plus i make way more then 20 an hour at my day job..

At least the old man offered you $20 bucks. Some cheap bastards pull out a dollar bill and want me to play banda right at the second they request it, when I'm playing salsa. Or even worse!! when somebody DEMANDS you to play a song saying .. You have to play it right away because thats why I paid cover charge. :s

i make more than $20/hour at my day job too, but thats for an HOUR of WORK. this is $20 for 3 MINUTES of PLAY.

are you trying to say you make $400/hour at your day job? if i made that much, i sure wouldn't be dj'ing kids birthday parties.
