TTM 57 plus SL-3

If I hook an SL-3 unit up to the TTM-57 would I get to take advantage of the improvements of the SL-3 or would it be limited by the 57's hardware?

never mind...I guess I wouldn't get to use the TTM-57 buttons so this ain't a great idea.
